• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Mud flap cracked

After being bumped into at a red light my mud flap on my RTS has a small crack in it .Any suggestion on what can glue or epoxy it to prevent the crack from running? I think it would depend on what material it is made of ,some glues say not for certain types of plastic.

Couldn't you just make a claim against the insurance company of the person who did the damage and let the shop take care of it?

Here's what I found.....

after dealing with the never ending platic mending on motorcycles...I have found they keep changing the plastics to where if you find a glue it will only work on certain plastics or they change the compound to where it will not work. I think just to make you buy new parts...:banghead::banghead: I have found the best method is to find a piece of small mesh to overlap the crack on all side, heat it up red hot and lay it across the crack and let it melt in. Worked for many a sport bike repair back in my working days.....

You need to "stop drill" the crack to keep it from growing. As for "repairing" the crack? I suppose there
are lots of ways to fry That fish.

glue

I have used a couple of different ones that seem to work well"
The Last Glue (available online) is amazing on plastic. Tabs and screw studs, cracks, breaks. Has to be a perfect fit.
Fairing repair from fairingfix.com, can make repairs and recreate missing bits.
Plastex can also model and create bits that broke and are gone/ruined.

All are products I found at SEMA, IMS, trade shows, etc. Bought, and then played with. It is to the point where if Ann snaps off a tab, she just gets the glue box, a newspaper, the broken part, and sets them on the island for me to fix. It is not a question as to if I can fix it; the question is "can you do it now?" On the rear mudflap, if the crack is a type where you can put it together and it nearly disappears, I would try the Last Glue. Like a superglue, but pressure dries. Put glue on one side of crack, press parts together for 30 seconds. Joe
