• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

MPH and RPMs for shifting into gears

I agree with the others in using RPMs vs MPH. I shift in the 4500 - 5500 RPM range. I try not to let my RPMs get below 3800.

Agree. This is what my dealer has indicated. John's bike blew a clutch (yes semiauto) in Durango possibly from not paying attention to above RPM shifting. Spyders like to run at higher rpms than HD. I previously rode HDs and had to get used to the difference.

According to Customer Service

Just got off the phone with Customer Service and ask this very same question. They said the factory recommends shifting the SE5 transmission between 4000 and 5000 RPMs. Plus they said if you do a slower acceleration that your MPGs will increase. I hope that helps.
