• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Moving comms from one helmet to another

New to all this and my wife and I ride separately most of the time. We want to communicate and both wear half helmets and modular helmets depending on weather and destination. I think if I order these components I can move the Bluetooth device from one helmet to another. Anyone do that now and can verify I am on the right track?

What you have listed will work, I did the same thing with the Packtalk Black so my girlfriend and I can change between Half and Modular Helmets. I selected the Packtalk because I ride with other Spyder Ryders that use Packtalk. If you don't plan on doing any group riding, the Cardo Freecom 1+ is cheaper, you can also get a half helmet kit and speakers for it.

A lot of members use Sena which I had before I changed to Cardo, I like the Cardo Packtalk better.

Welcome to Spyderlovers

I think you need all of the above plus speaker pockets for the half helmet.

That is what we use (I have the speakers in my headstraps for the half helmet, just cut a slot and inserted them and it works great on my helmet but if I did not have that I would use speaker pockets).

Hope that helps
John

I have the Packtalk Bold and do exactly what you are suggesting among my helmets a modular, a 3/4 helmet and a half-helmet. My half-helmet does not have speaker pockets so I just purchased an inexpensive 3.5 mm wired ear bud, plug it into the Packtalk Bold and put 1 ear bud in my ear. I wrap the excess cord around the cradle and am good to go. Since I do not listen to music through my comm unit this works well.
