• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Moved GPS today...

For some time I have wanted to move my GPS from base of handlebars to dash top. Well, I did it today. I used Jthortons dash mount, 1 inch ball, long Ram bar & new wiring harness from GPS city. The wiring was $50, dash mount & ball was $48 and the Ram bar I had laying around. It was very easy to do. I left the OEM mount in place with rubber cover on and ran the new wiring along side the old wiring for the most part. I tapped into existing wiring using PosiTaps and it was good to go. I ran the wiring through a small hole I put in the dash seam and placed a small piece of velcro under the GPS mount just incase it decided to vibrate! I love it up there!!

I want to do the same thing. I was going to use the original wiring harness but couldn't figure out how to remove it. I never thought of getting a new harness. Great idea!!! I think I'm also going to get the correct parts to remove the GPS mount from the handlebars.

Thanks for the idea!!

Tony
