There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Mounting iPhone

I have a 09 Se5 and am looking for a decent, secure solution for mounting my iPhone somewhere visible on my Sypder dash. I'd like to use it for music, GPS and phone with my bluetooth connection in my helmet headset.

Right now I just slip it into a pocket but cant see the screen or plug it into the power. I'm not too fond of the big honking handlebar mounts I've seen. Something that holds it onto the handle bar center piece would be great.

Ideas welcome.

BTW I have my phone in a case and would prefer something that could accommodate the phone in a case.

got this on my spyder made by ram mounts....

wonder if that will work with the new iphone? I just leave mine in the tank bag...can leave it in the frunk charging, if need be...since the phone is blue tooth running through my zumo, it only has to be somewhere on the bike to work...

I decided on the ram mount with the waterproof box. The box looks like you can fit the phone in with a case and touch through it's screen. Will see and report back when I get it.

Not sure which waterproof box you are getting but my wife and I each got a RAM Aquabox for our iPhones last year and the clear membrane on the Aquabox was too thick to reliably use the touchscreen on the iPhone.

The iPhone 3GS Ram mount works with the iPhone 4. I used it all the way to Chicago. I can use my touch screen thru the membrane of the aqua box but I must have bare fingers to do it. Also may have to try several times as it isn't as reactive due to thickness of membrane. I did have to drill hole in back and on bottom for cords though. I keep mine powered while riding.

you cant control phone with waterproof box i bought it ... and was not happy

Case works for the iPhone 4 in the same way since it is oversized. However since the phone uses the same touch technology the screen won't work.

I guess my question was more around the other case:

I like this one, but wondering if there's enough slack on the back to fit on the RT-S handle bar.
I will remove mine today and get you some measurements...when I have a minute.
EDIT: Also on the FAQ page...
Can I mount it to my bicycle stem?
Since the adjustable clamp pivots 90° to the body of the Bike Mount for iPhone, it is possible to attach it to most stems. The diameter of the stem should be less than 38 mm (1.5”) for proper attachment.
