• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The setup is not considered a double trailer tow. Double trailer tows are illegal in Washington State. The trailer toad (trailertoad.com) is considered an extension of the motorhome chassis. The only law I have to worry about with it, is that the trailer toad can not extend more than 15' past the centerline of my last motorhome axel. The trailer toad carries the load of the trailer tongue. This really reduces stresses and eliminates the "boating" effect on the motorhome. The trailer, with it's deck is considered a tow dolly. So it doesn't even require tags in Washington State and is completed as a tow trailer by use of the tow vehicle (rear tires on the ground) tags. The whole thing is just considered a vehicle on a tow dolly.

Don

I took the whole rig for a test ride today. Everything worked fine. The truck tracked well behind the motorhome. I think it's going to work out well.

Please let us know how this all works out.
Having a significant portion of the Spyder's weight behind the back wheels might upset the steering......maybe ??

Of course if you never drive the truck with the Spyder still in the bed, that won't be a problem.

Over 1000 miles to Florida with no issues. I did drive it several times to restaurants etc and rides pretty good. Obviously you can tell there is a load in the back but nothing outrageous.

Bob... Brings to mind that my boss has a heli pad in his yard, and has one designed/engineered to go on the roof of the new house he is building. As for me, I am considering replacing my fixed wing ultr-light with a foldable delta wing model so I can take it along.

After over 6 of the last 8 years as a full timer in an RV. I know that RVing is not for me. I did it for my daughter and her horse thing. I don't know how RVers can stay/live in a park with their blinds closed all the time because the have neighbors 10' away. AND put up with all of the rude, self centered people that come along with - not implying all as I have met some that are great.

I have a place in the country in WA. and am looking to buy desert property in southern AZ. or NM with enough length to have the short runway I need. Then I just snow bird back and forth with as much as I can carry, and keep the neighbors at bay.

Regards,

Don

You've got to admit: having an airplane for a "Toad" is taking one-upsmanship to it's highest pinnacle!
Full-timing isn't for everyone: the Missus & I will always remain as "Weekend Warriors"!
