• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

From prizes and raffles to supporting two organizations - Support Our Veterans Ride & Cruising For Kids...

If I understand the website correctly, there are currently about 250 people registered.

There are four planned road trips for the weekend, ranging from 290 to 368 miles.

Route 1 - Tame The Dragon - 7 hours | 320 miles - includes riding the Tail of the Dragon and a stop at Deals Gap
Route 2 - Bite the RattleSnake - 8 hours | 368 miles
Route 3 - Dragon Slayer - 7 hours | 320 miles
Route 4 - Shine the Moon - 7 hours | 290 miles

It's focused on 2-wheelers, but I'll be there with my Spyder.
I am registered as an attendee, but having nothing else to do with the event.

The spyder rally is being held in Maggie Valley on that same week. This is a free event and always great to attend. We are actually going 2 weeks afterwards this year so that we can catch more colors. There will be some color the first week in October, but it will probably be in the upper ranges of 5,500' and above.

Cool. :D

Google found this:

I'm going to register for that one, too, and will probably spend more time hanging with the Spyder owners than with the 2-wheelers. :spyder:

Edit: Hmmm...just checked the map, and the Spyder Rally is about 75 miles from the Motorcyclist Map event.
Maggie Valley starts on Tuesday, Oct 1st and runs through Friday, Oct 4th.
The Motorcyclist Map event starts on Thursday, Oct 3rd and runs through Sunday, Oct 6th.

So I'm going to have to choose where and when I'm going to be on Thursday and Friday. :dontknow:

I hope ya'll enjoy the rallies and rides
Can't beat all of the excellent roads and scenery we have here. Unfortunately for me, we're leaving in less than 3 weeks for a 2-month adventure to the left coast (behind enemy lines) in our rolling asylum. Have fun and enjoy.

Our plans are similar. We will be in the Cashiers/Highlands area the 12th to about 19th. First time on three wheels.

If you see a group of about 3-6 spyders, it might be us. We will be there 10/16-20. We always go through Franklin and Highlands area. Love going down 28 and also doing 276 and 215. We also will do Whyah rd.
