There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Motorcycle tours in Europe

I was curious if anyone has personal experience with using one of the European motorcycle tour companies. Google searches bring up two more prominent companies:

I was thinking that next summer I wanted to take my wife somewhere special. I had lived in France a couple times when I was a kid and wanted to show her a lot of the places I remember. While there I thought it would be epic to ride in the Alps. These tours would be able to eliminate a lot of the planning and guesswork.

Interesting vacation idea. However, just browsing through the photos and checking the makes of available rentals, it doesn't appear that any of them use or have Spyders. Not sure I want to re-visit the Alps on two wheels, though I did do it 46 years ago.

A great sounding vacation if that is where you want to go. Rider Magazine usually has an article about what they are like, where they go, what they do, etc. Good reading and pictures.

Hope you like BMW's. That seems to be the ride of choice (many iterations available), for the trips.

There does not seem to be Spyder as a choice--although you did not specifically mention them. That has not seemed to happen with any rental agency. The couple that I know of are no longer renting or are out of business altogether. Both were local and private--not national or international companies.

One of the things that I liked about both of those outfits was that there are several options as far a whether you have a guide and a chase van to carry luggage or self guided. Eideweiss has one itinerary where you basically stay in one hotel and use that as a hub for day trips. They also have options for riding your own bike. Looking around I did find one outfit in Austria that rents F3s for about $300/day. I also got a quote to ship my Spyder to France via a roll on roll off ship for about $1k. Guess it depends on how many days I plan to ride as to which route is more economical. I am not sure though if it's worth the extra money to have them pretty much plan the trip for you. Thoughts?

That would be $2k to use your Spyder, assuming you'll want to bring it back home. That would cover seven days of rental. It would also replace the costs of transportation within Europe while you're there.

The only other thing would be if there are requirements for the Spyder's configuration in Europe that may be different than in the States.

Who in Austria rents them? Would be real interested as I would not mind doing the Spyder Grossglockner ride.
Cheers
Frank
