There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.
Well I logged on the other night to take the survey. I got as far as giving my name and contact info and then it said "Thanks for taking our survey". So that was it?:dontknow:
I got the survey from the mailbox this afternoon and immediately went to do it. First thing it asked was if I or anyone in my family had ever been in marketing or market research. Soon as I said yes it dumped me out to a 'thanks for taking our survey' page. Rude. I was curious about what it'd ask.
Yup---- no coincidence that it's a Canadian Marketing company.... and too coincidental that so many of us Spyder owners have received them. Got mine this weekend.
I got it saturday. I answered the first question (YES) next, I was thanked for completing the survey and told that my name was entered in the drawing; along with providing my name and e-mail add. :spyder2:
There is no doubt this was BRP. They asked far too many Spyder-Specific questions....
Would we like the following options:
Adjustable Power Steering
Adjustable Traction Control
Larger Engine/More HP
Hybred Engine
Electric Engine
Performance Shocks
Higher MPG
Custom Paint from Factory
Heated Seats
Audio systems
Trailers
Sport/Performance edition
And much more......
Earlier today I received the following reply to the e-mail I wrote the other day to the address on the survey card...

Okay, if those are the questions that are being asked then I might cave in and fill it out. I would love to see an X model of the Spyder come out some day.
Now, to be really skeptical, where did they get all of our information in the first place? Did BRP provide them with a list of owners to survey, or did a different company check some sort of registration records? Or worse yet, did someone sell our information to them? :dontknow:
I did the telephone survey (about 30 minutes and not invasive at all). They couldn't tell me who commissioned them, but I think it is probably Harley by the questions. Asking about front -vs- rear paired wheels. and conversions costs etc. I got a $50 cheque for doing the survey. So BONUS. They got my name from a forum, but not the web master. The interviewer was personable and actually the 1/2 hour went by very quickly. He seemed to be a rider, but not with a lot of experience, in General. I would do it again!
Neither of us got a postcard. We might have received a phone call, but during election time if they say "survey" or "opinion poll", I hang up immediately.
I got mine in the mail on Monday when I got home from work. 2 minutes later I recycled it. I have a better chance to win the lottery and that's not saying much.
