• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Motorcycle Etiquette: How Not To Wave Like A Dork!

I wave my way to most every biker. If they don't wave back, or don't like the way I wave, well, that's their problem, not mine, especially since I am not giving them the finger!

I always wave. I get the return wave most of the time, and quite often the other rider has waved first. I feel it is a courtesy and how much time and effort does it really cost you? Now, if I am on some twisties, I am not sacrificing safety for courtesy. But either is the other guy. Drive safe, be courteous and most of all, HAVE FUN. Life is too short.

Wave

Everyone I see! I might miss a couple in traffic, but no matter what I am on, I wave! Have for over 35 years. Brotherhood of the road.

My favorite wave happened when I was driving down a country road in Wasilla. I saw a powered wheelchair coming down the road. The rider looked like a Nam Vet. Beard, a bit well worn, etc.

I slowed down and gave him the biker wave. His face lit up and he gave me a thumb up from each hand. I had a feeling that I made his day, just by giving him a wave.

The wave is a sign its a good day for riding

I wave at all motorcycles. I'm not pickey. Here in Texas on the back roads, I wave a farmers on their tractors, people checking their mail boxes, even cars. I wave because of the joy I have still being able to ride.

God Bless

OK ... I was riding in the Swiss Alps and noticed that in Europe, France in particular, they raise their right leg in lieu of a hand wave.

That's right. A sort of "I fart in your general direction" wave. I do knot lie.

I thought it was so funny then I tried to reciprocate. Not at all as easy as a hand wave ...

It's called 'The Boot' and is in no way detrimental. It is what GP riders do to say 'Thanks' to another rider for an act of courtesy during a race,
when to remove hands from the bars would mean lost time....the right foot being used for the rear brake. It can be done with either foot
and in the UK the left boot is quite common.

I tend to do the same. Maybe not cars unless they look right at me at slow speds. Kids in cars are fun. Why not ? I agree with his last line. .... I still able to ride, not as much as before, but stil some
Ride safe and have fun
