• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Most annoying thing about Spyder

Hi Lamonster Congratulations on your miles.

Are you in a position to reveal the most annoying thing about your Spydie?

What annoys me most is the really awkward place that the ( brains ) put the tyre valve in the rear wheel. What were they thinking about ?? Have a few bad words under my breath every time I check the pressure.

Anyone else have an annoyance.

I dont mean any major problems, just the tiny one that makes you steam !!!!!:2thumbs:

Even though I've gotten use to it I hate the safety message you have to click through before you start the Spyder.:spyder:

For me, the brake squeal is the most annoying and embarrassing. The placement of the valve on the rear tire is a pain, but it's a distant second.

Yeah, the valve placement isn't ideal, though I don't struggle as much anymore. Get yourself one of the Accu-gage air gages, it's a must have; the clip attachment for the valve makes it REAL easy and you can fill the tire while it's connected. Here's the one I have:

EZ-Air Tire Gauge
Model# EZ02
Here's a pic, first one on URL: http://www.getagauge.com/

Be sure to get this one, it has a thumb release for the connection. You press the release, slide it on, then let go... it locks onto the valve. To disconnect, just squeeze the thumb release and pull off. You'll find quite a few accu-gages, but this one is by far the most useful; the one with the thumb release.

I can deal with the message, as a distraction, but I have to say the brake squeal is realy the pits and frustrating, the Bevely Hills Billies truck sounded better when stopping than my :spyder: at times.............

I have to agree with Lamonster, I wish it could be changed to something else: lets smoke a fatty (burn rubber), we will kick some butt today, we will beat all the harley's today......something.

and the valve placement does suck.

Having said that the spyder is still the best thing ever

nothing I can't live with

Putting air in the Spyder tyers is a pain, and except for my K1200S( BMW did it right), so is my Harley FLH a pain to air also;
and the safety message is a pain but you get used to it,
my real complaint is that my garage could be larger, what with three bikes, a BushTec an A Mini CooperS, a person can't hardly move in there;but I ain't moving so.......
Other than that Life is GREAT,

I second the garage space notion. Spyder takes up 2+ spaces. With 23 bikes a hotrod and a dragster in that garage, it may start to get crowded soon. LOL Spyder is a lot easier to park and roll out of the garage than a sidecar, however.

I am fanatical about checking and changing oil in all my vehicles. I am used to checking it before I ride, with the engine cool, and just looking through a sight glass, or popping the hood. Having to wait until it's warm and then fighting with those BeJesus clips, just to check the oil is a bit annoying, as well as having to pull all those panels off to change it.

Yeah, it would have been so easy for them to put in a sight glass and a peep hole, wouldn't it?

Yes, that would sure have made it quicker and easier to check after it warmed up. Either that or a dipstick that could be pulled and checked without fumbling with those clips.
