• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

More Summer Airflow to the Rider

To Our Sponsors/Vendors - I have an idea for creating more airflow to the rider and passenger by changing the winglets under the mirrors to a design that would allow the winglet to be both wider and able to be turned to channel more air along the sides and down towards the radiator vent.

If anyone is going to make one I will probably buy it. If you are thinking about it I can speak with you and possibly supply the sketches. If no one is interested I will see about working with a local shop to make some up.

Does the existing piece need to be made larger or smaller? I'm not sure I am visualizing what you are proposing. Are you talking about something like Baker wings? If so...perhaps an adjustable swivel that attaches to another piece of plexi can be clamped on? Something like a ball-in-socket that tightens down with a wing nut... That should not be too difficult to fabricate.

I have been thinking along the lines of the wind deflectors on the Goldwing GL1500 that I had. They worked really well in the heat down here.

Wind Wings

Saw the VTC photo but wasn't clear on what the back side looks like. They look expensive but may be reasonable. I wrote to VTC for more photos. Thank you for pointing me to their site.

In a week or so after my three upcoming trips I'll work on a mock up of what I'm thinking.

thanks again. Lonnie

Maybe Clearview will Come to the Rescue.

My 'other' bike is a Suzuki Burgman 650 Executive. I upgraded its windscreen to a medium Clearview (www.clearviewshields.com) with the flip down air vent built into the lower center of the windscreen. Clearview makes excellent aftermarket screens. They make them for Goldwings. Maybe they'll make 'em for spyders, especially the RT. This is again, where friends like Fred Rau and LAMONSTER could really help. As Spyder Ambassadors, we need to reach out to vendors like this. Would love to see a set of Kuryakyn clamshell grips (fit over existing heated grips) for the RT as well. Anyway, back to the windscreen, I've added a pic with the idea as seen on a GL1800.
