Came across a deal I couldn't pass up on a new F3-T for my wife while visiting Cuba, MO during Spyderfest. Thanks, Cowtown! Picked it up yesterday, and this is what it looked like this afternoon!
Already installed - Lamont auxiliary lights - these install like the OEM ones should - in minutes. And they look so much better than OEM. Lamont hit a home run with these. Also installed - new pull-back handlebars. The wife didn't want a long reach. Here's the difference between the stock handlebars and the pull-back bars (position A).
Also installed the heated grips, Lidlox, a Butler mug Python mounting bracket, and the Custom Dynamics fender lights and turn signal feature. Still to install - Lamont's IPS caps and 3rd peg and a Garmin Zumo 665, and Lamont's GPS mount and power plate, and web boards. If anyone has installed the Zumo 665 or a satellite radio on a T, I'd love to hear where you mounted the satellite antenna. And there are even more things to get, like a bump skid plate and engine bay light kit, plus whatever the wife wants to do to customize it.
An an observation or two, in comparison to my F3-S. BRP did a much better job of making the customer accessory circuit wires under the LH service panel easy to find. No more searching for black wires hidden in a dark corner under the body work.
The plastic cover over the dash instrument cluster is easily scratched. I hope it's easily replaceable and not too expensive. Fewer real or plastic fasteners and more clips on the T. I know Lamont had pointed that out before. I was surprised at the number of parts that could be removed by just pulling them off. That has to make assembly time faster and assembly touch labor reduced. Based on all of the bar code labels, it looks like her F3-T was assembled in early March. I only got to drive it a short distance yesterday to lunch, but was pleasantly surprised by the wind protection from the stock widescreen. Felt like it was a bit better and quieter than the Blue Ridge on my F3-S.
Here's the happy wife with her new F3-T. She was amazed at how much better she liked it than her RT.
A two F3 family!
