• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Moon Motorsports Service

I was wondering if anyone has used Moon Motorsports in Monticello, MN for any service work on their Spyder? They are a relatively new dealership for Spyders, but have been in busy for decades with other motorcycle brands. I am having an issue with my RT and I am unsure want to take a much longer drive to another dealer for service since Moon is so close to my home.

I have had the best service at Ollies of Alexandria Mn. I have used 4 different dealers and they are the best by far.

I have no experience with Moon so I have nothing to offer regarding them. I bought my RT from Caswell's in Mora and feel they are the best. I do have experience with Minneapolis Motorsports from a service perspective and will never go back for anything. In fact, I'd pay money to have my bike trailered to Caswell's before I'd ever step foot in Motorsports again. From my experience, they are both dishonest and without technical knowledge of the platform. Bottom line, go where you feel you'll get the best service regardless of if it's inconvenient, it costs less in the end.

I have no experience with Moon as I go to Caswell's or Ollies. I would ask if they have a certified Spyder tech before I would have them work on mine.

make sure you get to the right service dept. the wrong dealership can tie up your ride for a long time. when you find the right dealer, go and talk to the service manager. ask a lot of specific questions. ask if the part is available, how long is the fix going to take. where are you in line, and is the mechanic certified.. I have really been disappointed a lot of times. I am on my 4th spyder and no problems as of yet. I can not stress enough to get the right dealer and service dept.

I've got the brake cable released to the point where the parking brake is no longer engaged, I have the micro switch for the parking brake indicator zip-tied so I don't listen to it beep for 65 miles and I will be on my way to Caswells in the morning. I am glad I was at home when this all happened since I had to remove the right side panels to make this all work. It would have been something if I had been on the road. This is the second go round with a failure of the parking brake system for me.

Thanks for the responses. BTW, when I checked with Moon today, they have no Master Spyder techs at their dealer.

I made the mistake of taking mine to pro power sports in ramsey, they had my machine for a month of our already short riding season and couldn't figure out the gas leak problem. Now mine never sees anyone but Les and the crew at caswell's!
