MoGang Ryde to Colorado for BRP Owners Event!

SteveMac

MOgang Member & Monster Member,
OK Gang,
I know everyone is busy as bees working on SpyderFest and we have the holidays, but as they say, "All work and no play...." You know the rest!

So, Len and I were talking today and we thought we may as well get a thread started to see how many of us want to form a group rYde to the event!

So, here we go, and I can say that unless something MAJOR comes up, like the Mayan calendar was incorrect or something and the world ends on May 21 instead of December 21... you know something really big. I plan on going and I will twist Connie's arm until she agrees.

I'll come back to this post and put the date in when we have it officially, but until then it is:

JUNE 2012!
:yes::spyder::yes:

Feel free to dive in. And yes, Lee, we will be stopping to eat somehere along the way.

Depending on when it is we may be interested. Planning a trip out that way around July 4. Would be great if both would work out. Keep us posted

:lecturef_smilie:As long as it isn't very early in June Linda and I are interested. We will already be on the road to Washington D.C. for "Rolling Thunder" over Memorial Day and very early June.

Can I join the MoGang

Like I said, depending on the dates Judy and I would love too. We're not from MO. but close enough.
Maybe it could be the MID-WEST chapter. Just gotta be back for the sons wedding in Cincinnati.
Don't think they would forgive us if we were not there.

Would love to have you all along. We sure didn't get to ride much together at the KYLake trip since someone (me) had to leave early! Heck, grab a crew and head this way. You might get Chuck and Mike and some others to join in!

Hope it works out for you when we have the official dates.

Would love to go but it really depends on the dates. I work with several other people and we can only have one person off at a time. The sooner I know the dates. The better.

Yes, yes. John, Mary, Ed and I will be heading home through Durango from our trip to Yellowstone. Will have to check with them but John and I are planning on making the event and then possibly heading home with the MOGANG!!! Hopefully will have my new ride broke in by then :)). Won't be getting it this weekend. Maybe next week or two. Suspense is killing me

When do we want to leave to get to Durango:dontknow: I think that it is about 1200 miles, do we do it in two or two and a half days:dontknow:. We probably need to get reservations going for the nights that we will be their. Can you tell we are excited:yes:, sounds like a fun time. Linda and I are kicking around the idea of either leaving early, going out to Utah first and then meeting the rest of you their and then ryding back or going out with the gang and staying longer...................decisions, decisions:dontknow:

I'm game to go with ya'll. BUT do have dead seat problem if in the saddle too long. Besides I'm gettin old and need my afternoon nap!!! I start having problems staying awake around 2Pm. So a short power nap works for me. I'll follow whoever for as long as I can. Won't be able to keep up more than likely but will try anyway. Have the June 20-21-22 on the calender. Now to let Brop know I guess. Do we register with them? Can't remember what I did at Maggie Valley. Will check out motels in Durango this time. OR NOT. ready to go!!! Got a spot in a KOA campgrounds !:2thumbs::yes:

Hey MoGang..............did you have time to discuss the trip to Durango today at the meeting:dontknow:. Sounds like the hotel rooms are starting to go quick, so we probably need to decide soon on getting some reservations.:lecturef_smilie:.
Again, sorry that we couldn't make it..............Linda, did you take "good" notes??:D

Jim
We covered a LOT of ground in the meeting but honestly didn't have time to discuss Durango. The meeting went until well after lunch until everyone was so hungry we had to adjourn! :)

Linda did keep the minutes in your absence and in typical Linda fashion already has them in an email to everyone!!

We did assign you to a fun task,, of which,, you will have to privately ask Mo Lee about. :yikes:

Overall it was a great day and we got a lot done. And as the SpyderLady said in the email,,, only three meetings left between now and Spyderfest. And a LOT yet to do!

Everyone pray that Len is careful (yeah right) at least that he gets home safely from the King of the Hammers race in California. Len, NO injuries!

See everyone next month!

Thanks Steve for the info................also, thanks to Linda for taking notes, great job :2thumbs:.

OK Lee, what's the "fun task" :dontknow:. I saw in the notes that Joe and I were leading the Hermann route, that is an easy one since we will probably use the same as last year. Is there something else? I know how it is when you miss a meeting :gaah:, you end up in a "pickle" :roflblack:

That's it Jim, I was pretty sure you wanted to do it again.

Interesting, Judy and I was thinking of that a possible ride for us. Taking off a couple weeks and doing ride to Yellowstone down threw Utah over to Durango then home. So many sights to take in couldn't list them all. Looks like 4000 mile round trip. I would like to hear more about your trip.

We plan on leaving Saturday, June 9. No set dates in each area but will be in Durango for the June 20th BRP event. Here briefly is the route we have mapped out. We will be doing hotels (except Durango) on the fly. I will not list all of the places we will be seeing, but:

St. Louis to Sioux Falls, SD in 1 day.
Sioux Falls to Rapid City area: Will be taking in Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, Needles Highway, Crazy Horse, Wall Drug, Badlands.... and maybe more
Rapid City to Spearfish... go through Spearfish canyon and maybe Devil's Tower
Spearfish to Billings MT to Bozeman, MT to Yellowstone - - complete tour of Yellowstone (we want to see it all)
Taking in Madison, WY, West Thumbs, WY, Bridge Bay, WY, Mamoth Hot Springs, WY
Madison WY to Ashton ID to Jackson Hole, WY... plan on a few days here
Jackson Hole to Durango (this part of route may change now that we have a few more days. I know I would like to take in some of 4 Corners if we can)
Then after BRP event..... head home either Friday or Saturday to definitely be home by June 24th.

Only hard thing about the trip is we will miss working the Race for the Cure (Breast Cancer) which we have worked for many years. But this year vacation time and fun comes first. Keep me posted if you want to meet up with us. Presently just 4 Spyders, but some of the MOGANG are thinking about joining us.

I have already made reservations in Durango... they are going fast. I have ours at the Durango Downtown Inn.. a bit pricy but for 2 nights not too bad and I got a room with 2 double beds in case someone needs to double up.

As Linda mentioned above, she, John, Mary and Ed already have their plans.

I have edited the first post in this thread to include a listing of those committed to going. I think so far, Jim and Linda are going, but I don't know for sure???

Anyways, whoever commits, just post it and I'll update the list.

See ya! :doorag:

Count us in for the rooms in Durango for sure :2thumbs: Do you plan on just two nights (leaving sometime on Friday) or three (leaving on Saturday morning)? I am thinking that we will probably meet all of you in Durango on Wednesday morning (registration starts noon on Wednesday according to Lamount's earlier posting) at whatever hotel that you pick. Sounds like a party:yes:and we don't even have to plan it.:roflblack:
