• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Modifying rear brake pedal

:helpsmilie:Has anyone thought abought modifying the rear brake pedal so you dont have to lift your foot off the peg to apply the brake. Looked at it today when I changed Y gaskets and probably wouldn't take much engineering to cut and modify to place the pedal in a more neutral position. Guess I'm used to two wheelers where everything is adjustable to fit the rider.

I guess this is another one of those things that depends on how you sit and how you are built. My foot rests just over the brake pedal...or immediately beside it, just like my BMWs and the rest of my bikes. BTW, most of those are not adjustable. The shift lever is, but not the brake. Anything is possible, but if we all have different needs, it is not likely to be commercially feasible. Looks like you are on your own. If you do this, make sure you do not change the relationship of the inner pedal with the brake switch. If the Spyder senses the brake switch too late, it will go into limp mode. If it senses it on continuously, it will show a brake fault for that, too.

My wife's 2008 SE5 was purchased used (only 400 miles). The previous owner had a fabrication shop install custom floorboards and modified the foot brake into a heal brake. Works awesome! When I installed the ISCI floorboards on my Spyder, I tried reversing their brake pedal since I kinda liked my wife's heal brake. The geometry was wrong and it didn't work out.:gaah:

Buy an aftermarket Model A Ford pedal from JC Whitney. Drill a hole in your Spyder brake pedal, and bolt on the Model A pedal. Problem solved. (Also works on URALs).
