• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Model differences?

Hello all,

I'm new to the forum and a new Spyder owner. I have a question i'm sure will be simple for you all. I am currently in the process of buying a new (to me) Spyder RT. The problem I am having is that the dealership I am buying from is not a Spyder dealer and doesn't know a whole lot about the bike. I know it's an RT but i'm not quite sure which RT (RT, RT-S, RT A/C). I'm wondering if you folks would be kind enough to jot down some of the differences in these models so that I may be more able to nail down exactly which one i'm getting into, not that it matters much, I love the bike and i'm buying it anyways! Thanks for the help. Oh, and I should probably add that it's a 2010 in orbital blue.

Dave,

According to the link you posted, it appears that the bike is an RT-S. Thanks for the help. Can't wait to ride!

:congrats: and Welcome!! This is an awesome site, and you are sure to get good advice on this forum!

Not to be a downer or rain your parade.... But....

have you checked your local spyder dealer?

With the new 2013 coming out there are some great deals on the 2012 and some great deals on spyders wanted to trade up to a 2013.

I think the dealer is the key factor in the spyder you need a good dealer who knows the machines back to front. If your getting the deal of the century then go for it, but it may pay to look a round.

just my 2 cents, love my Spyder

Unless you are getting service records with the purchase of the bike, I would suggest taking it to a Spyder dealer. From the VIN they will be able to tell if all updates have been installed.

It's not the base RT if it's Blue
The RT-S has a lot more chrome trim on it: saddlebags, top trunk, from "wings" are all chromed. The A&C model lacks these "farkles"
But they CAN be added!
:welcome:
