Missing Saddle Bag Reflector

I rode a couple hundred miles yesterday. I wanted to give the 2013 ST Limited a bath before putting her to bed. Sadly, I noticed that she is missing a reflector on the left side saddle bag. It's the oval shaped reflector right in the middle of the side. Any idea where I could pick up a replacement?

All the best,
John

Dealer or BRP has them. I bought some last month. Wasn't too expensive. Can't remember exactly how much but under $20 for a set I think.

How are they attached? I couldn't see where there was any adhesive.

Bag reflector - sun

What is it about heat and these spyders? From the DESS codes (had mine replaced after it overheated) to letting bike sit in the sun while visiting the dealer and the reflector was on the ground (on that sunny side) when I came out. Needing to be regular on. Glue issue on these Givi bags

A double self adhesive thick rubber "Spacer". It is probably still attached to the reflector. A recommend roughing up the plastic area of the bag with course sandpaper to give it some gripping surface and clean with alcohol before installing. Mine seem pretty secure for now

Adhisive...

get some 3M double sided tape. Clean off old adhisive then clean both surfaces with alcohol. Do not rough up the surfaces these tapes like smooth flat surfaces. Then reinstall. Keep pressure on for a minute or so...

Both of mine fell off. First the right then the left, all in the first 3000 miles. The replacements (under warranty) stayed on. The right side after my accident (complete new saddle bag) is also now staying attached after about 5000 miles. New or better adhesive??

Had same problem

Took pic one week was there, another pic it was missing, only way I knew. nojoke Mine was covered by warranty fyi. Yes double sided sticky tape like the 3m you can get at auto parts house. Clean surface with alcohol (Let evaporate dry) & dont have to scuff up, better if smooth but MUST BE CLEAN! keep pressure holding good contact for 15min or more, I took my bag off & stacked books on top overnight. :2thumbs:

Thanks..... I've lost three..... I'll order replacements tomorrow.

I believe you're looking for part#704902053, Spacer Decal, $4.99 and 705001572, Rear Lateral Reflector, Red, $24.99

Golden opportunity to upgrade

This is the perfect time to upgrade to Custom Dynamics "Brightsides". Better visibility and better product. It's held on by 3M adhesive that sticks extremely well after it's activated. It's a win-win-win situation. Consider it. If you want a product that is inherently reflective, TricLED makes a fine product and is sold by a really good guy.

If your spyder is still under warranty, the dealer will get you a free replacement set. I had one fall off also. once they fall off, you cant get them to stay. They gave me a set but I had to put it on myself.
My wifes new Harley had the tank badge fall off. They replaced it as well.

Thanks!

Hey Everyone,

Thanks for the advice. I called my dealer. They said they would get a replacement for me. The Spyder is still under warranty. The dealer will probably want to stick it back on themselves. If that's the case, I'll let them do it. I bought the bike at Hollinger's Sport and Turf in Ephrata, PA; they've been great about everything.

All the best,
John

Just to add my 2 cents.

Yeah, I had one fall off also. As the adhesive foam seemed to be still well attached to the reflector, I just got out my trusty bottle of contact cement, cleaned both sides with alcohol applied cement to both sides, let them dry and glued it back on. Even if I had to buy the cement, less than $5.00 bucks. I know, I'm cheap.

I have a 2013 ST-Limited and one side reflector fell off (lost). I called the dealer and ordered a pair. Alcohol clean the area, dry it thoroughly and press the new reflector on. Simple and no mess.

Its not hard to do it yourself, The kit comes with 2 to a package so make sure you hold on to the other one in case another one falls off.
If the dealer does it, you may not get the extra one unless you ask for it.

Follow Up

My dealer called earlier this week to tell me that my replacement reflector is in. I picked it up this morning; there were actually two in the package. I prepped the area, stuck the new reflector on, the end. Thanks to all for the advice.

All the best,
John

Mine fell off too. I might just take the other side off and use it as a pattern to cut out matching reflectors out of DOT truck reflector decals.
