Mirrors lose

Has anyone tightened their mirrors? Mine are loose.

My :spyder2: right mirror keeps becoming loose :cus:, I was instructed by a friend :chat: to dip the screw in silicone. I plan to try this tip this weekend.

I had that problem with the RIGHT mirror only.:helpsmilie: go figure. Soo out witht the screw and on with the lock tight!!!:clap: no problem now.ray: hope it stays. The vibration in m y RS and living on a dirt road 1.3 mi in... REALLY got to the thing. But LOCK TIGHT REALLY WORKS!!:clap::yes:

I think you can get it at lowes or any hardware store. I had the Cowtown crew put it on for me. Sooo not sure where to get it but have heard of it before and think any hardware store is THE place.:thumbup:

Be careful with Loctite. The stuff eats some kinds of plastic. I like the silicon RTV idea myself.

Be careful, there is red and blue lock tite.

actually there is three main types of Loctite.

Red is semi-perm high strength and usually needs heat to remove
Blue is low strength
Purple is removable

They used to also have a green, which penetrated into threads of things that were already stuck together... (As if it wasn't confusing enough already!) :shocked:

Seeing this was posted on the RT board my guess is you're talking about the RT mirrors. If so loctite is not going to help you. They may not be on all the way or you may have bent clips that hold them on.
