There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Not long ago someone mentioned something about mirror extensions. I asked my spyder parts manager about them and he had never heard of them. So, if any one knows anything about mirror extensions, please post the information.
Has anyone know of an update for the handbrake on the handlebars? If so, please let me know.
Thanks to all
Good cruising for all, but mine is still in the shop getting brain surgery!

There are no BRP mirror extensions. Kewlmetal (site sponsor) has them for $120.

No offense, but a much less expensive alternative ($6 vs. $120) are these:

http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1=&L2=&L3=&L4=&item=FAI_BA19-U0026

Positioned on the outer and upper corner of your mirrors, you can see directly behind you AND approximately 160 degrees in the peripheral; so, you can see the cars in the mirror and peripherally as they are next to you.

I've tried two other sets of convex lenses and they are inferior to this set.

My 2 cents ;)

Hand Brake

Has anyone know of an update for the handbrake on the handlebars? If so, please let me know.

The only Hand Brake that I have seen is from ISCI, another site sponsor.

Here is the link: http://www.industrialspecialty.com/ISCI%20-%20Spyder%20Parts.htm

The Hand Brake is about halfway down their product page.

They say:
  • Handbrake system is a complete bolt on unit requiring no modifications to the Spyder for installation
  • There are no modifications to the existing Spyder braking system
  • This is a hydraulic system that utilizes a master cylinder and a custom slave cylinder to actuate the existing brake system
  • Two kits are available. One for stock OEM handlebars and one for those who have after market handle bars. Please specify which you need when ordering.

Looks like a class act, but I have no personal experience. I have not been looking for a hand brake option, so there may be others.

I think I will try those sets from Cycleworks. I have the extensions on my spyder, which you will need if you run the 4" risers, but with the risers on, after market grips and Throttlemeisters, I still loose half my visibility. Thanks.

Thanks, Zerocool. I just ordered a set of those myself. Shipping was more than the mirrors but a hell of lot less than extensions.

I bought these (concave & adjustable) at Auto Zone and they do work great. My wife can also see when she is sitting behind me.

Happy to help :2thumbs:

What's cool is, you can see the front of the car next to you in peripheral vision, and see the back panel of the car in the mirror :ohyea:

I got the extensions and a similar stick-on mirror. Works pretty good.
