• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Mirror Arm Caps

OK, feel silly posting this in ShopTalk but it really bothers me and I am puzzled:hun:.

The black caps on the mirror arms (between the body bushing and the pivot point of the arms) seem to pop out when I look at them sideways. Is there a secret to securing these in place?

I added the KewlMetal extensions but I can't see how this changes anything.

Thanks for any insight.

The KM extensions don't have the little groove that the plastic pieces snap into. On mine, I had to trim the plastic pieces a bit (ends) and then used black RTV to glue them in.

.

Don't feel too bad, I lost mine quite a while ago with just the stock mirror set up. I believe they fell out on the road somewhere. :dontknow: I have not bothered asking for replacements either.

I never bothered to reinstall after installing ESI's up and out mirror extensions. It looks fine to me without them; but, that's just me.

One of mine fell out like a week after I got the bike -- floppy mirrors. I recently installed the up and out mirror extensions and just left the other side off.

You can glue them in but eh... It's minor enough to me that I didn't bother.

Thanks to all your comments, I used a little emblem glue on mine after I converted to the up & outs. :ohyea:
