• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I went to Best Buy today and bought the Dxi 5.25 speakers. They didn't have the DX I 4.00. Yes they are were on sale but the salesman said that the polk's DSl size were not in stock and that they were discontinued and I couldn't order them. Does anybody know if I can substitute a kicker or some other brand of 4 inch speakers. I would also like to know if anybody has had any experience and model and make of a mini amp. There are so many to choose from and I don't know what wattage of an amp to get. Examples, 2 x 60, two by hundred and 20, 2x300? As you can see I need help.:dontknow:
:dontknow:Do I need a 2 channel or a 4 channel?

Ask Kathy.

I too am VERY interesting in finding out details on adding/installing a mini amp.
I find that the built in amp to the radio is NOT powerful enough to provide the kind of sound I want.
ANY details, test, trials; please post them!

I have that model. I tried it and could not get any audio. But then again I didnt have time to do any troubleshooting... I hope the unit is not doa.

A lot of guys over on the Vision forums use the Alpine KTP 445. It is a 4 channel 45 watt per channel amp...Rated at 4 ohms per channel. It's an in-line amplifier which means it takes the factory output and then amplifies that signal to 45 watts per...Sells for $129.99 over at Crutchfield

Just a note for those who haven't dealt with Crutchfield. I have purchased many items from them for a wide variety of vehicles. Customer service is A++. I've always been extremely happy with them.

Mini amp

I was told by a audio installer that the Alpine KTP 445 will only work with an Alpine radio. that's way sopher can't get to work. I'm going to try an Alpine MRP-300 4-channel sends 50 watts to each offront and rears. The 4" fronts will blow with too much wattage. 45-50 just right. We will see. :lecturef_smilie:
