• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I hear there are many "military folks" dreaming of a Spyder. I will be pleased to send a new Spyder poster and Spyder bandana to the first request I receive. Maybe others on the forum can do the same ! We appreciate your service and pray for your safe return home!

This website is MY LIFE now!! Yes its sad (actually im really having fun), but I have to have something to make the 15 months fly by. Im living vicariously through other peoples lives and one day when im allowed to have a life of my own again you will all see me flying down the highways on my own :spyder:(yes even the people living in cali). :2thumbs: So how is your yellow spyder holding up? Have you had any of the issues that some of the other owners have had (brakes, weird electronic sensors going off). Im assuming that you're also a female, since your name is RocketLady, and I wanted to know if you had to make any adjustments to make it more comfortable to drive. I was thinking that I might need the risers (im 5'5) and Im really trying to make a decision on buying the automatic SE5 over the manual transmission. Thanks again for the poster and bandanna. You rock:firstplace:

Hey hope the time flys for you over there and you make it home quickly.

I can give you some input on the SE5 and the 1" riser. I'm about 5'4 and i have the SE5 with a 1" riser and its great. It puts me almost sitting strait up. The SE5 is easy to ride as I had never riden prior to the spyder. Only issue i had was hands going numb(fixed by new grips) and the break squeal which seems to only happen when break dust has accumlated. If i rinse them off and clean the wheels its fine after that.

I have not had ANY of the problems others have had with their Spyders. I did add a few mods and the 1" riser did help. At 5'3", the riser took pressure off my wrists so I can sit straighter. My favorite mod is the hindle exhaust. It sounds so good and runs cooler. I ride with two other Spyder-gals who have silver Spyders so they put me in my yellow Spyder in the middle, just so we look cool. We get allot of attention zooming through the rolling hills of central Florida! I also thought about getting the automatic as I wasn't sure I could master the clutch/shift. RocketMan(hubby) adjusted the clutch lever to make it easier and I do not have a problem. I mastered the shifting after taking the MSF course and have no regrets about not having an automatic. I wouldn't have it any other way now. Keep dreaming about your new Spyder. What color do you want?

I keep hearing about all of the exhaust mods out there, but since im a newbie I couldnt figure out why so many people wanted a different exhaust besides just changing the sound. We have hills in Florida? Just kidding I know we do, its just that there are NO hills in Ft Lauderdale, just flat for miles and miles unless you count the overpasses. Im really leaning towards the red Spyder and manual transmission but I'll probably end up with whichever one I can drive home the same day. Even if its lime green with a orange stripe (not really).

Damn, and I thought I was the only one who wanted lime green with orange racing stripes! I guess I'll have to try purple and silver stripes, or maybe I'll do the winter camo theme.....not!

Just a word of warning Spyderman62, I would stay away from purple on the Spyder as the first guy who did a custom paint job with purple got beat up pretty good (on the forums) by a lot of the other Spyder owners and future owners. :D

Whoa!!! Wait a minute here! My favorite color is purple and I was SERIOUSLY thinking of painting mine purple at some point. Was he blasted just because he was a dude, or is purple just a bad color? Oh, sorry, i just remembered, I DONT CARE if other people hate it cause im :b2b:
BUWAHHAAAAHAAAHAAA (thats my evil laugh):D

(I cant talk for real, i dont even have one yet):(

I teach my art students that colors don't have gender.

This is really kind-of messed up. I've wanted something fast and Purple since seeing Prince on that purple bike in "Purple Rain." Now I finally find the object of my desire and you tell me I can't custom paint it PURPLE.:cus:

But seriously, I've been trying for weeks to come up with a color scheme that included mostly purple. I've even gone to Wal Mart to look at "Hot Wheels." Surely if Mattel uses it, its Cool:b2b::dontknow:.

The name Prince may have been used in a derogatory way in some of those comments towards the guys purple paint job. :D Not by me as I didn't really mind the paint job and I do / did like Prince's music and the movie.

I love it when someone takes me seriously. LOL A I am getting yellow cause thats the color that works for me, but while we are on the subject, whats up with purple anyway? Maybe I am too old to know about some youthful inside joke. I figured the camo paint job was a tip off to this being a humorous response to Armygurl anyway.

I was joking too. The guy who got his purple paint job was teased quite a bit and I think he ultimately gave up on the forum (SpyderTalk) but my warning was more along the lines of a joke.

Hi Navy,
Would you like a Spyder bandana also? I am sending out 2 today and can add you to it. PM with your name if you want to be included. Do you have a Spyder?
