• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I went to the Black hills middle of June and when I got back the bikes odometer is at 51+++( it's at 51830 now but I have ridden it a few times going to PGR missions). The bike is doing fine( it's a 2010 RT-S) I, on the other hand, am doing ok just TIRED!!!!:sour: doing the Black hills and the eye of the needle is nerve wracking, the cars are every where and seemingly on my side of the road:shocked:. BUT they do see Bikers. And with the 75th(?) Anniversary of Sturgis it will be a ZOO in Aug. Glad I went when I did:thumbup:. Hadn't seen Mount Rushmore for about 60 years:hun: and it is STILL IMPRESSIVE!!! The Crazy Horse monument is moving along slowly but one can see his head and arm out stretched. The head of the horse is outlined on the side of the mountain where it will be carved. Soo they are getting it done:clap:. The complex there is really large and informative. I stayed at KOA's and in Deadwood KOA the only flag they had flying was the Canadian flag:(. I wasn't really too thrilled with THAT. The scenery was AWSOME!!!! the roads Very fun loving twisties:ohyea: . Thank GOD for 3 wheels or I would have dumped it looking at all the Beautiful scenes!!!:yikes:! The whole trip was a fun time in many ways and tireing in others. BUT when you get to Nebraska( and at the start of the trip into South Dakota) you REALLY need to have your thinking cap on as it is BORING!!!:coffee:!! Sorta like Kansas FLATTER 'N' A FRITTER!!:roflblack:!! I looked for and saw Mountain Goats, Bison, a couple Antalope, the petrified Garden and of course the Prairie Dogs;) around Devils Mountain.( THAT was a fun trip) AWSOME place. Could just see that space ship landing there!!! Wasn't tooo thrilled with the nightly 0100- 0200 Thunder storms when I was in Kendall and Deadwood.. Sleep deprivation left me a little more than cranky. But got home in the rain, of course. I left in the rain and it seemed I hit it consistantly thru-out the trip. Frog toggs held in there and I kept dry but the bike just looked like I'd driven thru a mud puddle!!:(! You would THINK the rain would give it a free WASH!!! Just can't count on nature anymore!!:banghead:! Well that's my story and I sticking to it:joke:. Hope all you folks had and are having a SUPER GREAT SUMMER VACATION!! keep the rubber on the road and keep traveling!

Sounds like a great ride. I've ridden up in the area about 6 years ago, of course not when the bike rally was going on. Some beautiful country we have in the good old USA. I rode through Kansas and yes its freakin flat for sure. I was on two wheels at the time and had a strong side wind and had to lean the bike into the wind what seemed like forever. Not fun. Glad your back home safe and sound.

Spent last week there and put on 1150 just in the area. Rode every paved road, many multiple times. Several of the roads were ridden to the end of the pavement, turn around and go back-just like a new road with different scenery. The Wildlife loop was a bust but we did find the bison heard right along 16A between Needles Hwy and Iron Mtn Road. Iron Mtn Road was newly resurfaced just a few weeks ago! I understand an RV got stuck in the Eye of the Needle tunnel..fortunately it was gone by the time we went through. We, too, dodged rain for three days. Beware of overpriced mediocre food, and overpriced gas with a 10 cent/gal surcharge for using a credit card: premium was almost 50 cent/gal less in Rapid City than Deadwood, Spearfish and Sturgis. Overall, great trip.
