• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Migrating From 2 Wheels To 3 Wheels

Congratulations! Give it time, and miles. It will become 2nd nature. If you can, ride it to Florida for the road Warriors rally in Deland. I’ll check your alignment for free. If it’s off, I’ll fix it. You can meet some great folks, and have a great ride!! Joe

What is the date of the rally?

I live in Langhorne PA, just to a RT limited. Going from riding harley softail deluxe (been riding 23 years). I feel like I died and went to heaven. Being 5'1" riding big bikes all these years got to feel more like work than fun over the last few years. Each time I ride it , it gets better but you can't take curves like 2 wheels. I have a girlfriend who has been riding an RT since 2012 and she can fly around curves. It will get better and the wobble will go away once you relax more

Congrats-----

Hello again!
Today I did it! I bought a 2014 Spyder RT Limited. The ride home from Pittsburgh, PA took about an hour and a half. Of course, there was city driving...then highway...then (closer to home) was slower two-lane "state roads." At no time did I feel uncomfortable riding it. This bike handles like a dream so far!

My next BIG thing is to buy a J&M CB and antenna and find someone to install it. Wish me luck! :-)

I'll get a photo of my new (to me) silver beauty soon to share with ya.

:congrats: and :welcome:

Re-read my post ( #2) on foot and knee position. This technique is really for faster corners but even a little knee pressure on the inside of the 'tank" helps on most corners.

After 3 weeks of Spyder ownership I took one of the "Learn to ride" courses advertised on the BRP Can Am Spyder website.
Now I've been riding on two wheels for over 30 years and found the course to be a great introduction to three wheels.

It was a single day , most of the day was spent in the saddle and I was able to put the Spyder through it's paces in a controlled setting. I would recommend it to anyone making the switch from two to three wheels.
The instructors offered many valuable tips and I left there with much more confidence and a better understanding of Spyder handling characteristics .

I took a quick look and found the there are several locations in Pa that offer the course.

I am not affiliated in any way with the courses given except that I have taken one.

Hey, Lew!

Went on a 250 mile ride yesterday with my friends. I practiced your knee and elbow tips, and found that it really did help with my stability through curves. Whether right or wrong, I find I am smoother with a little "pull" of the bar - rather than a "push" on the other side...at least on *fast* turns. I'm struggling to learn to relax. I find that my shoulders were feeling tender by the end of the day. But I had so much fun that it's all worth it! Meeting some other friends this afternoon for a dinner ryde. :-)

I'll be looking into the "Learn to ride" courses. I learned to ride two wheels with Pennsylvania's MSF program, and don't regret it -- or the advanced courses I've taken since.

Today is the 2nd day of riding my 2015 RT to work. 80-85 on a Chicago tollway and I'm learning fast. I also figured out the bent elbow thing and totally agree about pulling no pushing to steer.

Just came from a week up there, foot to the floor stoplight to stoplight, people so far up your butt they can taste your breakfast, posted speed limits as recommended minimums... don't know how you guys do it. I doff my cap, sir!

Yes it will take miles to get use to it, I also have been riding for over 50 years, last bike HD ultra Limmited 2011 with 104000. Due to bad hips bought a Spyder, I now have over 4000 on it and it gets better every day, first 1000 I also was ready to take the HD back out. Now I love it. Give it time.
