A lot of this is just the idea of "we got you" years ago i was taking my boys to Disneyland and we passed lego land so we pulled in it was all brand new and built out by itself in a field where there was nothing around that you could have parked in there lot and went to but they still had parking fees i'll never forget it,a total trap just add a buck to the gate pass and be done with it the feeling of we have you and you have no choice does not sit well with peopleThe PR guy from MGM just said that this will anger some more than others but this will be a value proposition for some customers. Say what????? :banghead:
Having to pay for parking at the main casinos on the strip is a deal breaker for me. I will miss the valet parking and they will miss the $4,000 plus I spent just on the room and food for a weeks visit.
I was thinking the visit would be my last time, now, that pretty much seals it up.
Oh man, what a sorry affair Vegas has turned into...
Back in the '70s, when someones else ruled the roost, free drinks if you were playing a slot machine (I played a video 21 at a bar for quicker service), you could proudly carry your bucket of quarters from one casino to another without being robbed, and the buffets were good value. Even got to spin the 'Wheel of Fortune' for a while (under age,) and in return learned how to beat it. The drinks cost too much now, so going to pass on that one.
Nowadays, all the perks are gone. Mega Corps are trying to squeeze all the money out of you that they can.
Glad I was there when it was good...
