There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Met a guy at Lowes

I pulled into the Lowes parking lot.
I noticed an obviously brand spanking new beautiful Spyder RT parked in the lot.
It had Florida plates.

I went in and made my purchase.
When I came out I found the owner of the RT getting on the bike.
I pulled around and made my somewhat standard joke about not buying too much plywood when driving the Spyder to Lowes.

I met Don.
A really nice guy.
He told me all about his Spyder experiences and he also had an RS at home,
Cool.
We also had been to the recent Spyderfest together only separately.

The point of this is this.
Spyders are still rare enough for two guys who don't know each other still think they have something in common.
And I think that's pretty neat.

Like I'm going up to a guy who has a Timex watch, Iphone or wears a baseball cap and say, hey how do you like your watch/Iphone/baseball cap?

No bigee, but cool, I think.

That was fun. ...

I do see them at shops but don't find the drivers that often. They can stash their helmet and jacket so they are hard to spot. They do have ineteresting stories when you can catch them...

You might not be able to buy a lot of plywood... :D
But you can still do a pretty fair job in the nuts, bolts, and screws aisle!
:lecturef_smilie: And don't forget to pick up some Beef Jerky at the counter! :roflblack:

:agree: It is good to know& spyders are just one of the many things you may have in common, you both were at Lowes or similar but other reasons :popcorn:And some how Ive managed to see other local spyders when I'm not on mine:dontknow: And not where I can reasonably talk to them.
Always on opposite side of intersection or something:banghead::p Glad I have made contact with the few I have & hope we meet more:chat::bbq::doorag: Local dealers should host monthly
get together bbq :bbq: like local HD tries to make it a sales pitch but still good for the most part, can support charity's as well bike night is good too but safety issue too many drunks:barf:& :cus:work get in way for many. :chill::barf:

Not to sure about the baseball cap thing. Inside a publix's this morning with the wife
. Both of us in riding gear carrying our helmets. This guy approched me and said my team was doing great so far this year. Being that I had a Phillies baseball cap on. Funny not once did he talk about the spyder he saw us drive up on.:roflblack:

I've not seen your brand before; I normally picked up the stuff made by OBerto

Perhaps we'll have to swap some of our stock?

Me Too

Went to my 8 year old grandson's baseball game last evening at Mount Paren North Church of God, near us. They have a huge recreational complex and as I was exiting noticed a Spyder similar to mine parked in front of the church. 2014 RTS SE6 in my color - Cognac. He came out as I was admiring his ryde, and we had a nice chat. He is an associate pastor there, it's his daily ride, rain or shine, and he gave his truck to his daughter. There is a testimony to no DESS fear.

Turns out he is a SL, his name is iSpyder. Small World.

It's like meeting a fellow tribesman in a foreign place, isn't it? I occasionally meet Spyder ryders at fuel stops. Last year I met a gal at Crater Lake NP. She seemed to have never met another Spyder ryder before!

BTW, Mac (IdahoMtnSpyder) can carry plywood on his homemade trailer he pulls with his RT.

Oh Spyder Codes, it's so nice to have your insightful observations back on the forum. You were sorely missed during your absence.:bowdown::thumbup::clap::yes:

Maybe baseball cap wasn't the best choice given folks fan fervor.
Being born without the Sports Gene makes me immune ......

We have had the same thing happen and just got the Spyder. I got stopped by a woman in a minivan who told me she has a Spyder also and she told me all about these long trips she took. It was nice speaking with her. On my Yamahas, I don't get people taking pictures and asking about the bikes.

I agree spyderCodes. I was out for a nice long ride yesterday and at my first stop, I pulled in behind a brand new F3. Had a great conversation with Denis, who was 62 and told me his wife passed away last year, and he sold his mustang as it reminded him of her. He said he had never rode a bike before and was thinking to buy a Harley, but a friend suggested he check the Spyder and he loved it. Long story short, we rode to the next stop together and then parted ways, both knowing we had made a new friend!

Just love meeting fellow Spyder people. They have all been some of the nicest people.

My little encounter at Lowes really is the most recent of a long line of similar happenstances.
Surprisingly I have never run into someone who told me any complaints about the machine which runs against what you might think reading iforums.

Usually the conversation turns quickly to how the Spyder has changed their lives, perspective or outlook.

Very true. I guess the complaints are saved for here!
