• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Mechanical problems

Not to defend Harley, but I noticed in the article that Harley recommends changing the brake fluid every two years, just as Can-Am does.

Not slamming Harley

Wasn't intended as a slam on Harley, just as it stated, brake failure is worse than some of the problems Spyders have.

How many brake failures have you heard about with Spyders even if the brake fluid has not been changed ever 2 years? I am sure that most owners do not change it ever 2 years.

Has more to do with everyone is in a rush,,,,, then opps needs their brakes! Not to mention added distractions. & periodic maintenance is for "some one else", all they need is gas & it to go kind of thing.

I wasn't there but I still care! POW /MIA VETS

I had to replace the entire rear braking system on my Harley with about 14,000 miles on it. When asked if it were normal the dealer says, depends on how you use the brakes. 1 week after it was "fixed" I lost the rear brake while riding and had to take it back to be fixed again. Apparently a bad 0 ring was the problem the second time.

My Harley required a lot of maintenance. It wasn't cheap and even then it still had issues. I wouldn't spend money on owning another one.

No, no, no....

Harleys have had problems with the ignition systems as well. ..we are doing pretty well in the malfunction dept...
