• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Maybe I'm thick headed... Help me understand

No.

My fronts have right at 19,000 miles on them. They are waring smooth all the way across but as I had mentioned in another post, I have always had a slight drift from right to left if I let go of the bars. It would drift over the center line and keep going. It didn't take much effort to stay in a streight line but the slight pull has always been there. I did have a darting issue that I have just gotten used to and that was that. I didn't know the darting wasn't supposed to be there. Well I went ahead and scheduled the alignment at Lamonts last Friday and I am greatly pleased with the outcome. No more pull or drift now. It stays where you put it. Also the darting is now almost non-existant. The previous issues before the alignment were not "show stoppers" by any means. I have always been very pleased with the Spyder. I see no reason the front tires won't go another 5 or 6 thousand miles. they've Scooted for 19,000 miles and after the alignment they are under much less stress, At least they were scooting evenly . The back tire is another story, first one lasted about 12,000 and this one will be lucky to do the same. Anyway all I am saying is that the alignment is a worthwhile thing to do and for 120 dollars it was a bargin for me.

So do you think if you fork out the $$ for the laser alignment you could actually get 30,000 or 40,000 miles out of a tire on a Spyder? It sure would be nice not to have to buy rear tires twice a year.

I've got over 10,000 miles on my tires with very little wear.

Let me explain. I'm very impressed with the laser alignment being done on an increasing number of Spyders. This results in much better tracking and better tire wear. It has been reported that these Spyders are a considerable amount out of alignment when new. My understanding is they are laser aligned at the factory. The wheels are put on by the dealer. Are they getting out of alignment between the factory and the dealer or are they out of alignment coming from the factory?
I guess my question is why should an owner of a new machine have to pay extra to get it aligned? It should track true from the factory. I realize I'm not the smartest egg in the bunch, but I don't understand this. :dontknow: :chat:

You STILL haven't bought one??

curious
