There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Hi to all, I just wanted to let you know I have a problem with my Spyder. I am hearing a knock when I first start it up when the motor is cold. After it warms up it is not nearly as noticeable so I thought at first it might be another exhaust gasket gone bad but have decided it is more seious than that. I tried yesterday to get it up to Ingles in Pheonix, NY but they were booked up for the whole week and couldn't even get it in. So I called Bibbens in Weesport, NY and as luck would have it their No. 1 mechanic is not there this week but their other mechanic is going to look at it tomorrow and try to give an opinion of what it might be and if it is safe to drive it to the Adirondacks. He has not been certified for the Spyder but has worked on other BRP products like 4 wheelers and sea Doos etc. I was running out of options so I took it up there and left it so the motor will be cold when he gets there in the morning.........and just hope for the best!! I am afraid I will probably have to drive my car up to the Adirondacks but will just find other things to do while the various rydes are underway......what a bummer

. We will really be disappointed if it ends up that we have to drive the car!!

Hoping for the best!!!

PS: I may not have posted on here what I found out about my gas fumes and gas leakage coming from my tank especially when I hit the brakes. I had a friend watch as I came to a stop and with the plastic off he could see gasoline coming from under the fuel pump module. I looked on the parts list and decidedc I needed the retaining kit for under the fuel pump module. I ordered it and my son and I was able to get the old kit out and the new one in. We did it without stripping everything off and with a lot of tedious effort....got it done. It took care of the gas leaking by and no more fumes!! What a relief!

The mechanic at Bibbens turned out to be a very knowlegeable and intelligent person. He has worked on all matter of recreational vehicles and even has had or still has his own business repairing and working on motors of all kinds especially the Rotax and will certified soon for the Spyder. He assured me that what I was hearing was expected at 50,000 miles because of normal wear. He said I should be able to go another 50,000 miles without any major problems.

So we will be at the SITA event tomorrow on the SPYDER and not in our car. Can't wait!!

Sorry, I don't buy it. While the sound may well have been nothing to worry about, the sound should not be any different at 50,000 miles than at 5,000 miles. There has to be a reason it changed. I'd ride, but I would monitor it closely. When I returned, I'd get a second opinion.

Ya that is what I plan on doing.......I kind of agree with you because it seemed to come on in a rather quick time frame. I am going to be real observant and concious of the sounds coming from the motor. He also told me to make sure I keep on top of the noise. I was just glad to hear that it didn't sound serious enough to cancel ryding the Spyder. He really did seem very knowledgeabe though. I am going to get with Ingles again next week and see when I can get it in up there.

Thanks for your interest and the advice and thoughts about the noise. Are you going to the Adirondacks this week? Hope to see you there if you are going!

Thanks again!!:f_spider:

Sorry, after Spyderfest, Maggie Valley and the extended trip home, and Vintage Motorcycle Days, our travel budget for the year is about shot. Fixed income, you know. :D
