I want to replace my analog fuel with an analog volt. Does anyone have a link or part name, number for a gauge that will match the look of the temp gauge?
I suggest you replace them both with Autometer full sweep Cobalt series volt and oil pressure gauges. They match the gauge cluster pretty well and provide useful information. Fuel and temp will appear on the LCD panel when you unplug the factory gauges.
Ah didn't realize it was a both thing. Where are folks tapping oil pressure input from? Mechanical oilpress or electric?
Volts is simple of course, oil press a little harder. I tried searching forums and found a lot of references where people had someone do it, but I just do my stuff.
There is an oil pressure switch already on the engine. Remove, install tee, install pressure switch and fitting for new gauge. I used a mechanical gauge as the small tubing did not have that far to run and was no where near exhaust. Install was not hard. Worst part is finding the metric tee and adaptor for standard tube fitting. (got them from Summit with the gauges).
Ah good advice thanks. I like the mechanical oil as well, I run metal tubing for mine. I still may chicken out though and go with a clock and volts. I can't see the clock on the little display (or temp or any of the other small icons).

I found this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/atm-6121/overview/ So was wondering if this is the gauge you used? Also there is a metric adapter shown on the right hand side under suggestions. Would this be the ones you got sir? Did it have enough tubing to comfortably make the run from fitting to gauge or was it tight?

This is a pic out of the repair manual. The switch is number 6. Hope that helps. I know what it's like wanting to get started with your mods.Got my parts in from Summit. Since i havent recieved my manual yet. Would you be kind of enough to have a pic of where the oil tee goes, vidoe of it, etc please. Want to tackle this tomorrow. And be ready to ride for the weekend.
Thank you both that is what i needed to know. Due to its location, guess it is best to do this during an oil change since so much will come out? Expecting my filters to arrive Saturday. So what weight oil?
When the bike is fully warmed up and on new synthetic oil, idle oil pressure will be about 18 to 20 psi. As the oil ages, the idle oil pressure will drop because of viscosity breakdown. The BRP oil dropped to 7psi when I changed it at 2700 miles.Go tit all hooked up. Thank you again for all of the tips and help! One last thing....what have yall found oil pressure is at ideal and say running 70mph down the interstate?
