• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Manufacturing Kenya tires at its best!

Working with no hearing protection, safety glasses or respirator, etc.

They won’t have many long term workers.

Now I understand why those recaps (gators) are laying along the roadways on a hot day!:roflblack:

Got a healthy giggle when I got to that vid. They were using a very ruff copy of the Bandag tire recapping process. Our retired tire supervisor would have fell out of his chair and needed an ambulance ride if he would have seen it.

He actually spent a good part of a year during his travels stopping and inspecting every roadside tire carcass and determined it was about 50 /50 new tire vs recap.

Thank you. That link worked.

Does not look to me that the tires are the same as those manufactured to US "standards." And these are NOT actual Kenda's, but you folks already know that.

Does anyone know if this is the same company that is currently in charge of the Apple Car Play system? :roflblack:

2 Questions.

Why would they make Kenya tires in India? Seeing as how Kenya is on the African continent.

And are Kenya tires better than Kenda tires?

Those are probably better than the Kenda's, at least they won't go flat.

I wouldn't be do sure 'bout that!!

Given that they're 'solid rubber' instead of pneumatic tires, so even with ABS, any HARD application of the brakes that'd significantly slow &/or stop the wheel rotation whilst travelling at any reasonable road speed would most likely put at least one flat spot on them, if not turn them into 'dodecahedral tires' (or worse! :p ) rather than maintaining their supposedly 'round tire' shape!! :gaah:

But then, I guess that's pretty much like the Kendas anyway! :p Except for many of them, the Kenda manufacturing plant 'pre-installs' the flat spots for you... just to save you the effort!! :banghead: :cus:

I love the scientific way they carefully mix the different compounds in just the right amount. I'm wondering whos dumpster they are getting their raw material from...

And did you catch that they were using leather scraps in the mix? They were remnants of hides that had parts cut out for other things. There is a term for that but I don't remember it at the moment.

Looked like more than rubber and leather in the mix. Homogeneous Compound comes to mind. But I don't think that's what you're looking for.

I'll take mine with Rubber and Plastic. Light on the leather please... Can I get fries with that?

Back in my leather shop days, the home company used to package those leather scraps ("clicker" remnants) in 50# boxes and encouraged us to sell them to the schools for "art" projects. I kept one in stock, and never ran out.
