• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I bought my Spyder in Dec 2010. Have had it in to the dealer for the 600 and 3000 mile services. Both times the cost was over $200. Is this going to be the regular cost to have the oil and filter changed?

If they do it right

If you check your owners manual, it has all the listed maintenance schedules there listed for you. So, you may think its just oil/filter changes, but it's really allot more than that. So, it all depends on your service centers hourly labor rate, really. You can always order your filters from BajaRon from this site & do your oil changes yourself for less than $70, but that doesn't include all the other checks your service center should be doing as well. No doubt, the :spyder2: is a high cost to maintain vehicle, but IMHO, it's worth it :2thumbs:

If you think what you've seen so far is bad, wait till you get to your 12K mile service. Then, their suppose to check valve clearance & I was told that is an 8 hour job. Take that times your hourly labor rate, & your looking at $700-$1200 :yikes::lecturef_smilie::yikes:

Cost of upkeep is a down side of being a :spyder2: owner. A lot of :spyder2: owners are passing on the 12,000 mile valve adjustments--because they are usually not needed. I did it on my first bike--but #2 and #3 have not had the adjustments.

I am following my dealers advice on this.

$200 is a good price for servicing--I usually end up paying $300-350 for basic stuff.

My dealer said the same thing about the 12000 mi valve adjustment. I wounder if u ever had motor issues that BRP wont cover it cause the valves were not checked:dontknow:

If your question is directed to JUST the cost to have oil and filter changed, then YES. That is right about in the ball park.
