• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Magnifier

Is there such a thing as a magnifier strip to apply to or replace a shield visor so you can see what's on your gps or similar screens? A black out strip on the top of the visor so you can lock out the sun at dawn and dusk would be cool too. I don't really want to wear my reading glasses under the helmet. Thanks

You can have your prescription put on film which is then applied to your shield.

BRP helmets have a flip down tinted shield behind the clear one. They are beyond great.

What are those windshield signs; the ones with the cute sayings on them that you stick on the inside of the windshield made of?
It would seem to me that a strip of that layed inside the top of a visor would work just great. (If only i knew what to look for! :opps:)
Reading stuff while on the bike? I just ask the Missus what the heck is going on...she tells me!

Like I said, I'm trying to avoid any eyewear inside the helmet. My helmet, HJC, has a flip down shaded visor and it works great. But for that one hour or so in the morning and evening the sun is right in your eyes and the shaded visor is of little use. I just thought with all the aging riders out there who try to make numbers and letters on their display screens and maps by squinting their eyes, this idea might be a good idea. I know there is magnified face shield for the workplace and works like a bifocal. Just wondered if it jumped to the cycle world yet. I think it's a great idea.

There is one out there specifically for this purpose, it sits in front but does not attach to the screen. I cannot remember who sells it but do some web searches. You might try Ram or Riders Warehouse as they come to mind for some reason. Good luck with it.

I just made a blackout strip for the top of my full face helmet using black electrical tape. Sounds hokey but it works and looks pretty darn good. With the sun getting lower in the sky I am sure I will use it more and more. I got the idea from a long distance BMW rider that I went out with this last weekend.
