• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Magic Mirror Mounts

I have a 2013 RTS and installed the mounts. Easy job and they work great, but the magnets make temp. gauge read wrong. Was reading way to low, so i called Lamonster where i bought them and they told me to turn the top magnet over and try that. With that done the gauge went to high, up in the red. So i removed the top mount and installed the pin and plastic plate that i had removed earlier. Now the gauge is just a little high but is usable. The magnetic field is to close to the gauge. Any one know how to block this with out a big hassle.

Thank you.

I don't know where I read this but it was said that if you rotate the magnet you would change the direction that the magnetic field traveled and POSSIBLY move the field away from the gauge. As easy as it is to do, I'd give it a try. Just pull the mirror, loosen the screw that holds the magnet on, and rotate it 90 degrees. If that doesn't work, rotate it another 20 degrees. Let us know how your problem turns out.

Dump the Analog gauges.

Unless you really love the analog gauges why not just disconnect them and go to the digital display on the screen. If you go digital both gauges have to be disconnected.

Good to know. I was considering the magic mirrors but wondered about how the magnets might affect the electronics. Guess I'll wait until the bugs are worked out.

Don't let this little hiccup scare you off! :D
Once you see how easy mirror removal becomes: you'll find that they're worth it!
(And this issue is easy to sort out...)

I installed the Magic Mirror mounts on my 2013 RTL about a month ago, according to the directions. I had already dumped the analog gauges to use the more accurate bar graphs on the center screen, and I have had no problems whatsoever with any of the Spyder's electronics after having ridden about 300 miles since I installed them.

Makes sense... Analog gauges use a coil and a magnetic field to move the needle.
Any magnets strong enough in the area can effect needle movement.
