There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Maggie Valley - WOW!

It is AWESOME!! I have made a new near-bestest friend in you Mark. Lamont said we look like we could be brothers!!! What do you all think??
MV-17004-1024.jpg

YOU figure out who is who!! We told Lamont we had different mothers but the same Father :) (some will get it... some won't :))

Looks like we're hanging here in Cherokee till right after lunch, then be heading back over for the afternoon. I'm hoping the 3 of us can do the museum if you're not ryding. I'll hollar when we get into town.

I like your hats! Pretty clever. Where'd ya get them?

There's a bit of a story, but the bottom line is I designed the Ichthus to look like a Spyder , had a graphics guy that works for me clean it up, and then got the hats made on www.Zazzle.com. I gave a few out to folks like Mark & DLTang (PICS OF THAT COMING LATER TONIGHT OR TOMORROW!!!).

Many more pics coming very soon....

Got to Maggy Valley about 8:30 this morning after a little more than an hour ride. It was really beautiful.

Started off kind of slow. Around 11:00 guess there was about 100 Spyders there. Weather started changing and a lot of people cleared out for awhile trying to stay out of the rain.

Later in the afternoon the weather cleared up and everyone returned. I believe there were 400 and something Spyders. It was really a sight to see!!!! Maybe if I'm lucky I'll be able to attend another rally one of these days. If not I'll still have my memories from today!!!!!!

Got to meet some really nice folks from all over the country. Lot of the people rode a long way to get to this event. It was interesting to see all the different modifications that people have on these things, plus the beautiful paint jobs.

Hats off to BRP. They really treated us well. Had a great meal and a great time. Life doesn't get much better than this!!!!!!!!

Day #2 Pics

Again, I am in awe of this part of the country and the sheer NUMBER of ryders that you see everywhere! We had to fly in and out so we don't have our ryde here but we sure wish we did have it. Loads of folks rode the Tail of the Dragon and I know they'll post loads of pics and videos. It rained hard about mid-day and many got soaked on rydes or nearly soaked. Sounds like everyone had a safe day of ryding. Bobbie & I took the chance to go to the Wheels Through Time motorcycle museum:

Something like 38,000 sqft of motorcycles, some cars, and a handful of other things that made us move over the years. MANY one-of-a-kind items. Most everything in there runs and they even still race some. While we were there the owner fired up a 100 year old Indian that still has everything original except the tires! Way cool...

About 5pm-ish everyone started filtering back into the fair grounds. Here are some of those pics----

Had a GREAT BBQ dinner sponsored by BRP. As Mark said, there were about 430 registered owners with another 200+ guests!!! ALL of us ate!! Here's three friends that have one Father and three mothers!

The Customization Contest re-opened and since it was still drizzling, it moved under a tent--

Then it moved back out to the red carpets:

My friend David was comparing notes with one of the entrants about 'super shine'. As I was editing, I noticed I caught a pic of the guy that won the trip to the 2012 European Spyder Event!!
MV-18039.jpg

You'll definitely know one of these two guys! The guy on the right is SpyderWolf! To see his ryde in person... WOW!! Sorry you didn't win bud...
MV-18037.jpg

We all gathered to hear from the BRP big wigs that rode in from Canada. REALLY nice folks who really do seem concerned about what we think and really do listen. Carlo was there of course, allllll the way up the BRP food chain.

I know on other postings you'll lean about the winners of the various categories. The BEST OF SHOW was this bike:

After the awards- a few of us caught up with Lamonster--
(L to R) Mr. DLTang (Brian); DLTang (Deb); me; Lamont; Mark
MV-18052.jpg

I handed out about 15 SPYDERLOVERS.COM cards that Lamont had given to me. One of the guys, Jerry, that won in the Show & Shine category, is from Oklahoma. Jerry had never heard of SL!! But he has now!!! He, several of his friends and their wives are saying that they WILL be in Cuba for SpyderFest 2012!!

I still didn't make it completely through the list of people I wanted to meet. BUT.... it IS now a shorter list. I have met my heroes and I'm STILL impressed!! Thanks to all for allowing me the honor to shake your hand.
Blessings......

My wife and I have the same view as Phil and I agree with him. There are a lot of Spyder riders out there that has no knowledge of Spyderlovers. Cards are a great way to get the word out. I've had my dealer call me about products that I have on my Spyder. They have customers that ask about after market items. Maybe the dealers should advertise the web sites as a way to better educate their customers. :chat: PS: Today's event was just :2thumbs::2thumbs::ohyea:.

Great meeting you guys off and on what.... 4 times today !:2thumbs::clap:

I LOVED the look of this machine....
Thanks Phil! :2thumbs:

You guys deserve it!! You have one amazing looking machine. And yes, you SHOULD have entered it!!

It was great meeting you both. I think Bobbie has decided she wants a red one and wants the chrome edging like you did. NO PRESSURE ON ME!!!!:gaah:

Very cool Phil. Thanks for posting the pics. I "almost" feel like I am there! Nice seeing David is there too! Did he ryde in or fly?
Glad you are having a good time bro!

He rode---- 2 wheels :(. Long story. Ask him.

WOW! What a great time. Already planning for next year. Met some great folks and had some great rides. Praying that everyone makes it back home safely. We will be leaving tomorrow.

There are a lot of Spyders in my area and none of them are members of Spyderlovers. A lot of people are not into being a part of forums.
I sure am glad I did get involved because I have met a lot of great people.

:agree:They've sold 30+ Spyders out of the Rutland VT dealer and I don't think I've seen a single one of them on here. Could be mistaken and I shure would love to meet some of them to go for rides with.

Great Hats! B a great tee shirt too!

I'll start this thread about our experiences. :chat:

I've been watching from my room at the Fairfield Inn here in Cherokee. I have a 3rd floor view of the parking lot and the big Shell gas station / food mart / hamburger joint next door. I know it's only a fraction of the Spyders in town, but WOW... to watch the ryders come and go, checking into the hotel, getting gas, grabbing a burger, sitting on their rydes and eating ice cream :). It makes me smile!!

Something else that baffled me:hun:. I walked up to and started conversation with about 10 people so far. About 50% had never heard of SpyderLovers.com, or they JUST heard about it!! I'm that Geico guy who lives under a rock I guess:dontknow: I thought EVERYONE knew about SpyderLovers. So... I'm evangelizing!

Lamont- do we have SpyderLovers.com cards we can hand out?

Great story, photos and analysis Phil, I missed the owners event this year but will be there next year wherever it is.
