• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Maggie Valley Spyder Customization Contest

When BRP posted some more details about the Maggie Valley Owners Event, they had information about this contest along with a registration form. The biggest part is you have to pick one of 3 classes to be in, best stock, best paint and/or graphics, and best overall customization. Your Spyder needs to be on display Friday from 6-8 PM and then again on Saturday from 4-6 PM.

I am wondering how many of you are thinking about entering the contest, and what class you are going to enter in. You can only be in one class.

I was thinking about entering mine in the stock class to see what they would say. :D :dontknow:

"Spyder Dream": best overall customization...:shemademe_smilie:

:dontknow:

I thought your Spyder was named Silver Dream. Does this mean you are entered in the best overall customization, or are you saying that is where mine needs to be entered?

Truthfully I will enter mine in the best overall just to see what happens. I was being silly when I said I would enter it in the stock class. :D

So, is anyone else going to enter the show?

Are you entering your Spyder--- or your trailer? :roflblack:

Sorry bro--- couldn't resist! :D

:opps:

I am coming solo, so it will be my Spyder only. :D

At this point in time my Spyder still hasn't been trailered to any event. I know the time is coming, but it hasn't happened yet.

Besides, my open trailer is nothing really worth looking at. :roflblack:

Not sure they'll have more than one entry under the 'best stock' bike----:D I thought they actually read the posts out here.....:roflblack:

I wonder what class I should enter, with the little work I have done.

My thoughts are if you haven't done a lot of work on it, and if you don't have custom paint or graphics, then I would enter it in the stock class. :dontknow:

I know what you are saying, and it is somewhat of a dilemma to try to figure out what class to enter. I know I cannot enter the stock class. I have graphics, but I have seen some custom paint jobs and other graphics that a lot of people would probably like better than mine. Of course, there are plenty of Spyders out there that have been way more modified than mine as well.

In the end I figured with all of the different mods I have done to my Spyder combined, I better put it in the overall class and take my chances.

Yeah-- that's a hard call for you. Almost all of my mods are under the tupperware--- so I won't be entering in anything..... :D

I guess Best Stock would be :spyder2: with nothing broke and clean and shiny...:ohyea: Not sure there is a Spyder out there that absolutely has not had something changed...:coffee:....

I also think that it will be very difficult to pick the best bone stock Spyder out of a group. Let's say you have 2 copper RS-S stock models. How are you going to decide which is the best. I suppose you could crawl around looking to see who has the cleanest swingarm and shocks. Perhaps that is what it will come down to. :dontknow:

Of course you are right about that, and I am more than willing to give up 4 hours of the weekend to help them advertise and show off the Spyder.

Shiny and clean stock. I think it will be hard to beat those stock colors at the show, just be sure to bring some polish.

When are you heading up to the event?

Well obviously I couldn't enter stock because I do have a few mods here and there. I would have to be in the "overall customization" class. I was planning on only doing one day and heading home on Saturday morning but this requirement of Sat. from 4-6 PM really throws a wrench into that. If that was earlier it wouldn't be so bad. I didn't even reserve a room yet because I was going to be down in Robbinsonville Friday night. Decisions, decisions??? Also how much emphasis are they going to put on cleanliness. I don't want to spend time cleaning and polishing, that's just not my thing. I've had my Spyder for 6 weeks now, have done 2 road trips and have only washed it once. I know it will get more road grime ryding down there. I guess I can enter now and always back out later. I didn't see a deadline on the entry form, is there one? What to do?

You need to enter in best paint only! :roflblack: :roflblack:

Seriously though, I would think they are going to want them fairly clean. If the stock class is clean and shiny, then I would expect the others need to be as well. You should try a can of Original Bike Spirits, or Plexus, and see how that works for you. I always use OBS and microfiber towels and it doesn't take that long to clean it back up after a road trip.

I don't know about a deadline, but I would think they want pre-registration so they know how big of an area to rope off for the display. You could always send an email to Chaz and ask him about it.

Come on down and join the contest, It wouldn't hurt my feelings a bit to lose to you in the overall customization category. :2thumbs:
