Madstad windshield

I need to replace my F1 windshield that I bought in 2009. The company that made the F1 was owned by a guy down in Florida by the name of Marcel. I can't find the company on the web so I'm assuming he has gone out of business. Too bad - I liked my F1. I'm considering buying a Madstad and would appreciate any feedback. i have an 08 gs se5 with a 20" windshield with the robo brackets. the adjustability is amazing and the metal plate that replaces the stock shield could be used to mount a garmin, etc. the group from mastad was very easy to work with. imho you wont be dissapointed.

I agree, I have the Madstad on my RS-S and installed my Zumo bracket on the mounting bracket of the Madstad.
Very useful.

I had an F1 for years and really liked it. I repaired it many times but it was probably the best I have ever had. Like you, I found that Marcel had gone belly up so I went with the madstad bracket. It is really good too and will serve you well. It takes a bit of fiddling to get it to the spot where it works well at all speeds. The major drawback from the F1 is that you cannot lower it without going into the shop and fiddling with it again. My F1 I use to lower and raise with one hand while riding.

I too have my GPS mounted on the madstad plate.

i bought myself a piece of LEXAN, at HOME DEPOT... and with a piece of card-board, pencil, i traced the 'mating' section of the OEM windshield, then transfered that patent to the LEXAN... then i created (in my head) the windshield i wanted... with a Skill saw, hand drill, heat-gun and 3 hours of my time, i came up with what you see below... relatively easy, and only cost me my time and $20... PLUS, it's alot of fun creating your own 'mods'...

I really couldn't be happier with my Madstad. Great wind protection, minimal wind buffering and a lot of adjustability I did a 2,000 mile road trip with it through Colorado back in August and it worked great!

I have the Madstad and love it, no buffeting, and the aluminum plate that bolts where the factory windshield was is very strong for bolting any electronics.

or you can search via the 'search box'... just plug in key words like "windshield" or "muffler", etc.... as for the FOOT REST, i'm building a 'tool' to make these from fiber-glass... give me some time on that... next project is a 'baggage rack' for the RS.... i'll start that tomorrow... pix will come later....

BTW, the 'WINGS' were an after-thought... i mounted my new shield, and found that the handle-bars would hit the shield in turns... so i took it off and started bending again... i think the results paid off in both performance and looks...
