• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Madrid, New Mexico; anyone ever visit there?

Great story

I'm watching CBS Sunday Morning show. https://www.cbsnews.com/videos/a-shining-christmas-in-a-once-dead-mining-town/

They're doing a story on the unique Christmas celebration in this little former coal town. The mayor jokingly calls it a "Drinking town with a tourist problem" Sounds like a great destination for a ryde.

I'm convinced I was born in the wrong decade.... only question is, how do I get my Spyder back to the 1940s?

Well....

I've been to Madrid and New Mexico but never at the same time... :roflblack: interesting place...

Did you see that they pronounce Madrid differently than the one in Spain? I had to see it in writing before I could look it up on Google.

Bingo bingo on the Madrid/Wild Hogs connection. And yes, the pronouncing of the word is different depending on where.

There is also a New Madrid earthquake fault running down and up through Missouri. They say that could also be a big one. Last happened before the area was populated. The "a" is pronounced MAD in that one.

BTDT. It's a nice ride from ABQ. Especially if you get up early and get in a side trip up Sandia Crest. Madrid is a mix of original NM mining town and tourist trap. Maggies Diner in Wild Hogs is nothing more than a t-shirt shop, no food or drink - that was a big let-down.

:agree: I rode to Madrid a few times when I was stationed in Albuquerque back in the 90's; it wasn't a tourist trap then. I passed through again in 2015 on my way out to Red River NM and though it looked pretty close to what I remembered, you could tell the town was "appreciating" its Wild Hog association.

Like previously stated, don't miss the opportunity to ride up to Sandia Crest (peak) when you"re in the neighborhood.
