Just installed this from Ebay. Took about 20 minutes and works well. Just right when you need a bit more stow space, and don't really need the trailer. Ordered it this past Monday and it arrived Thursday......just in time for SF

Hi ,

I have one similar like this one. The problem i see with the rack bolt on the hitch on the swingarm not on the suspension. Each time you hit a hole the rack take the shot too. So our road are not so nice in canada so i remove it.

Hi,
The picture shows a GL1800. Is this the stock photo off ebay, or your motorcycle? This is a lot less expensive that a Pak-It-Rak. The BRP trailer hitch locates the ball much farther back. Will this fit properly on a RT??? What bag do you use?

It's just a stock picture off Ebay. I have a 2014 RTL - and had no issues with the fit. I'm using a leather bag that I got when riding 2 wheelers. It's roughly 16" wide x 18" tall x 6 inches thick. Fits nicely and doesn't hide my license plate. The hardest part of installation was getting the screw out of the bottom of the ball. My neighbor has an air gun and the 1 1/8" socket -- with his help, I got the screw off, put the new mounting plate on, in about 10 minutes. I lowered the 2 set screws on the mounting plate, once installed. This keeps the plate from rotating on the ball.

One thing I did do, was drill some holes in the lip of the rack itself. This was only to facilitate using tie downs, since the rack sides are smooth.

I looked at several options from $150 and up, but saw this from a previous thread and thought this fits my needs at 1/2 the cost.
Good luck.

installed less than 10 minutes

Installed mine today! Can also use on my ATV. Thinking about getting a Dowco 50125-00 Iron Rider Bag to use on it.

Questions about Luggage Rack for Hitch

Installed mine today! Can also use on my ATV. Thinking about getting a Dowco 50125-00 Iron Rider Bag to use on it.

I am interested on purchasing a Hitch and rack for my 2013RT limited. What hitch did you use? What rack did you purchase?, your picture looks like it is made from expanded steel, and the rack on E-bay looks to be solid. My last question that I can think of for now is how wide and long is the rack? Thank you in advance for any assistance that you can give on my questions.

size

20w×15L ,I have a BRP hitch. I don't think it matters what kind of hitch you have, it mounts under the ball.Very sterdy, do a search in Google, there is simular ones, and some include a cooler!
