• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

low flying

Flyboys having fun.
Bob D needs to ride in a B-52 with terrin following radar, a few hundred feet off the deck. If you know any old USAF/SAC troops, ask about "Oil burner routes"

flying

i did runway electrical work at KENNEDY AIRPORT back in the 70's and after seeing what goes on with planes and emergency's i have never flown. feet stay on the ground. i went to a air show at jones beach on long island once, first air show i was ever at. well i was standing on the board walk looking out over the ocean enjoying the show when all of a sudden a jet came from behind us and it was so low that i needed to change my underwear when he passed. it was amazing, now a young lady i know in OHIO just left to go see her mom in Scotland and asked if i would want to go and she would hold my hand the whole flight so i can say that i flew in a plane. but like the brave man i am i said NO WAY!!! and still i am alone and feet on the ground.

Hmmmmm?

I'm actually just fine up at 43,000 feet with a movie and a flight attendant...
:agree:
Stationed aboard aircraft carriers, I got my fill of "sonic booms"...all from the comfort of a spacious flightdeck. I'll keep my feet planted solidly on the ground, thank you.

The FB-111 also had a terrain following radar and would get a lot closer to the surface than that BUFF would. It was awesome to be in one flying low and fast . . . you just knew you were going to hit that mountain ahead! :yikes:
