• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. low cost rain suit

I have heard some good things....but does anyone have experience with the froggtog rain suit(s)...around here we don't need a rain suit very often so a top $$$ suit is not really worth it....but for the price these seem to be a reasonable option (?)

I've heard good and bad about them. The only bad i heard was some people were having problems with the exaust melting them not sure if its a problem on the spyder or not though. I use FieldSheer rain suit paid 45$ for it and it works great.

I use a kneedragger rainsuit that I gave about $60 US for. The exhaust won't melt it because I have worn it for many miles and it is still in good shape. As far as keeping me dry, it seems to be as useful as a third nostril but I rode in some heavy rains. I am not sure anything will keep one completely dry.

Now I use it as an ATV suit and it is great for that. It keeps the mud off of my $12 jeans.

Good Luck

I have one and so does Baby (froggtoggs) - they are okay - they keep me dry and I haven't melted it yet, but I try and not ride long distances in the rain if I can help it, but I also have Corbin bags so most of the exhaust heat is deflected away from me - I'm more worried about how I can get the wipers in my helmet to work (joke)

I use Frogg Toggs and they're my preferred rainsuit. Perfect for the Florida weather as a vinyl suit just gets too hot. I've ridden in heavy rains with them and they do a very good job of keeping the water out. You're not going to have any problem with them melting on the spyder either, you'd have to physically touch the exhaust to melt the suit. I wore them on my HD and never melted them on a pipe.

I HAVE FROGG TOGGS AND THEY WORK GREAT LIGHT,AND EASY TO STORE AND EASY TO INSTALL:clap::f_spider::spyder2: PERFECT FOR FLA QUICK RAINS:2thumbs:

I have been looking at different suits and had decided on FrogTogs. Now the next question, any special "model"? We seldom ride in rain, so one to just pull us through will work.

the people that first pointed me toward these liked the "Leep Frog" model
(it's on their web site under reflective suits)... They liked it becasue its reflective and had a "cape" feature that helps prevent balooning

Nope no special model. While I picked mine up at bikeweek a couple years ago I've seen the same ones at BassPro shops. You'll also find them at most dealers.

I have a set of Frog Toggs hi vis yellow - they are great - shed water like a duck - just have to stay away from the muffler - but not a problem on the :spyder2:. It works well for me.

Don't planning on riding in rain at all. In a pinch, I suppose a garbage bag with holes for head / arms will do .... talk about styling on the Spyder. :p

FroggToggs are GREAT! We've used them for years when riding our Goldwing Trike. VERY comfortable and lightweight, but will keep you DRY. They go through the washer just fine too. They don't take up much storage space either, which is great when you're traveling. They come with a little pouch to store them in.

We also have two sets of Harley raingear, which we bought before we learned about FroggToggs. They are very HOT to wear and bulky to store, but do keep us dry. However, cost over $100 per set and that was 7 or 8 years ago!

Last year, I found a set of FroggTogg lookalikes at Sam's Club for about $25. I carry this set in my Spyder. I've never worn them (hope to NEVER wear them!), so can't report on their effectiveness.

By the way, ALWAYS have rain gear with you, on every ride! Don't ask me how I know!

Talk to tatt2r, dltang, bjt or nickcaro. They have to ride in the rain, just to wash all the road salt and snow off their Spyders! :D:yikes::D

Cheers,

Bruce

Anyone who rides in all types of weather isn't gonna be slowed down by the lack of rain gear. :D :D :D

I've came home from work a few times with my pants just dripping water, completely soaked. No problem. :doorag:

I very rarely will pull over to put my raingear on. I usually just ride right on.:2thumbs:

I will usually not put mine on unless it is foggy light mist and poor visiblity - just drenches the work duds when ryding to work in the AM Frog Togg hi vis yellow - keeps the damp out and added measure of safety.

otherwise just ryde - keep soap in the truck and save on home water bill LOL

If you get a set, some of the first ones they sold did not have zippers on the legs so you had to take your boots off which when it raining sucks, the set I have has been on three different bikes, all sort of camping and anywhere were you need something light that will cut the wind and keep you dry.

Got 1/2 a set left of the Froggtog. When I needed them most, I found out that the pants would not go on over my boots and was not willing to strip down to my socks while I was in the middle of the rain with no place to hide for cover. Forced one boot in and a 4" ring off the bottom of the suit leg followed. Suit was ruined at that point, so when the other boot became stuck, I pulled out the knife and slit it at the hem. Had a pair of rain shorts by the time I got home.
