• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Low Battery Alert

How old is the battery?
Even one on a tender will only last about 24 months.

AJ

I, and others that I know of, have had many batteries last more than 24 months. The main key to long battery life is ensuring that it is properly prepared when you put it into service. Too many folks (including dealers) rush the prep time and set the battery up for failure.

Thank you for the input, so far the dealer has eliminated the battery as the source.

Just spoke with the dealer and was informed that they are waiting on further instructions from BRP to continue diagnostics. This is a reputable Dealership and I'm confident that they will resolve this matter to my satisfaction.

Update: Last week, I was informed that the magneto had arrived at the dealership and that it would be installed this week. Today I was told that the special tool needed to install the magneto was broken and a replacement tool wont arrive until next week. When I suggested that they try borrowing a tool from their other dealerships, the Service manager told me that their (all dealerships) special magneto tools were also broken.

I plan to speak with the owner tomorrow. Seven weeks seems to be somewhat long for a repair.

Update : This morning the service rep informed me that the past 2wks were spent attempting to remove the magneto (using the special tool) without success. They are following BRP instructions.
Frustration is slowly creeping in......

Update: Yea!!! The service tech informed me, late this evening, that I can pick up my bike tomorrow:yes:.... The charging system is now working properly:clap:. Since its a 4-hour trip (one way), I need to make arrangements for a chase vehicle (just in case).... Other wise, can't wait...!!!

Finally, picked up my bike Friday and rode 300miles home with a Chase trailing. The magneto had to be cut from the bike in order to install the new one. Other than a dirty bike, sticking controls ( turn, cruise ), it was a relief+very enjoyable ride home.

Same thing for me

Glad to see that the stator fixed your problem, I had the same thing happen, while riding I did sense some electrical smell but it diminished and thought nothing more than it was something from a passing vehicle. I then had the battery light flash on and off for a few KMs and the then it started with a VSS code, them ABS codes and all kind of lights. I went and bought a new battery, activated it and charged it overnight and tested the charging system to find no charging at over 4000 RPM. sad to say it but further investigation and my meter found the Stator shorted to ground. Pins 1,2.3 and lead to ground should be OL bit mine had readings of 8.3 ohms. I now have to wait for my Dealer to take it and diagnose it. I will let you know how it turns out. 2 year old battery was swapped out and maybe the cause but I doubt it as the 60A fuse it didn't blow so it is fine. I have a another possible crispy stator. TBC.

Left the bike at riva Motorsports in south Miami. They tell me the parts should be in by Tuesday next week.

My service contract should cover all expenses.

The battery is new but the system is not generating the needed voltage to keep it going.

I haven't experienced any problems since the repair of my stator.

I talked to the dealer today and the parts should arrive Tuesday next week. I hope that it takes care of the problem.

Luckily the extended service contract covers all costs. Great investment
