Love my CHAD windshield!

Well finally I have a windshield that works for me! I am very pleased with the CHAD windshield. Since I had installed Kewlmetal handle bars, I sat more upright and other windshields did not work for me. This one was easy to install, very solid and I was able to ride with my face shield up (it didn't get blown down)!

Keep us posted please.

Good to hear it is working out for you. I am considering the Chad. I am
5' 7". I presently have the EVO III and like it very much But..... with my full face helmet shield in the up position, it catches the wind coming off the windshield which bothers the heck out of me. Except for that, I really like the III. Did you have a different windshield before this one "Traveler?"
Please keep us posted how this is working out for you. Even if there are small things that bother you regarding the CHAD, I am interested in hearing from you. I don't have the money to buy numerous windshields. Thanks for all your input good or bad. Jerry

I just installed the CHAD wndshield about a week ago. (from NMN) It is so much better than the BRP shield. The ride is much quieter and just enought air coming up under the shield to give you some fresh air without blowing you off the bike. I was able to ride with my shield up, but after reading Lamonsters episode with a wasp or hornet, I'm not sure I want to any more. I'm six feet and have helibars so I sit up straight and can see over the top of the shield with it is its most upright position. The air flow is over my helmet. It could be adjusted downward more and still be fine for me. I'm playing around with the adjustments to find what I want. I really like it. :ohyea:

I'm not trying to discourage you from getting the CHAD if you want it but have you tried tuning the EVO III to work better for you? On Marcel's site, he explains how to heat the top of the shield and put a little more bend in the lip to force the air up higher and over your head. It can make a huge difference.

i read something about that...

No problem BJT, i heard something about that but am very surprised it could even be done with a blow dryer. Have you seen any more info on that? I will do a search and check F1's website. Thanks for your help. Jerry

Is it just me or does the big windshield change your bike. I have the 30 inch EVO111 wow it seems to make my machine have a mind of its own. I want to cut it some not sure how that will work but it blocks my sight alot. Any comments out there

I've never heard of a CHAD owner that didn't like the unit - and best of all you can adjust it without a hair dryer - :D

The CHAD has lots of room under the windshield to allow the air to fill the vacuum that can be created behind a big screen (near the handlebars). I had a EVO I and that was the problem I had. I developed a terrible neck ache at the back of my head. My head was trying to fill this vacuum!

So I sent the EVO 1 back, and tried the L and XL Cal Sci. Since I sit so upright with my new bars, the Cal Sci(s) were not tall enough. Mark (at Cal Sci) was very helpful with all of this.

The CHAD keeps the wind out of my face, but is is not up, or out all the way. So, I can still move it up if needed, or down if I need so extra wind in the summer.

I have been trying windshields since November, so I am very pleased to have a solution.

We will be going on a longer ride this weekend, so if I have any other feedback, I'll let you know.

The other thing I like is that the one I have from No Neon has black on the bottom which covers up all the brackets. It is clear on the top and I still look over the top when riding.

I just ordered one from No Magic. I'll see if I can make look cool after I get it. :doorag:

Not that I or any of us would ever steal your ideas, Lamont, :roflblack: but I'd like to see some pics of what you end up doing to the CHAD.

I'm getting one from No Magic Neon (on payday!) and I appreciate all the folks starting with Smylinacha and HDXBONES who raved about the shield...I'd like to see if cutting it j u s t a bit (the corners at the top) would ruin the effectiveness much.

I picked up a CHAD from NMN on the 15th (along with the homerun stuff and mirror extenders). I just did my first real ride with it yesterday and so far I'm very happy. Still want to play with the adjustment some 'cause I think I can get it so I'm VERY happy!

Can't wait to see what you come up with Lamont!:doorag:

It won't look stock, that's for sure. :ohyea:

That wil be a challenge. I bow to your creative genius if you pull it off. Still, I think it is prettier than a lot of the competition.
