• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

lost thread here

my version. you still need a footpeg to shift an sm.
The top where the tube goes over the peg is still very functional as a foot peg and shifts and brakes very easy. powder coat is a matte finish so your foot does not slide. Works very well :yes::thumbup:

Hi bmc,

Re: View attachment 92270View attachment 92271

That is very interesting how you attach the forward portion to the existing Spyder device ( I have no idea what that/those are called ). Most DIY'ers go with some type of square tubing running clear across the undercarriage and farther forward.

I was wondering about the cantilever effect but it looks like you have rolled the outer edge to stiffen it; yes/no?

Can you offer us a thought on how they attach at the rear?

Personally, I don't care for the 'web' design but I would expect each person could cut them to whatever pattern that they wanted.

I await your DIY instructions.

And a great big THANK YOU for doing this.

Yes Jerry the one edge Is bent for strength. I did a thread under general discussion floorboards that explained little more in detail . If you have further questions feel free to pm me. I am pressed for time at the moment working 60+ hrs. We involved in a new computer system:yikes: figuring that out trying to mqke time for other pleasures. Been doing this for 40 plus years. It is very simple and simpler to square them off. Dont know when i will get to the dyi. If you still want me to email more pictures i will:cheers:

K67

hey K67....
NOT TO WORRY MY FRIEND.....
we all stumble from time-to-time.....
i built my own Floor-Boards, Foot Pegs, Tail-bag Rack, Windshields, MOD Mufflers, Cold Air Intakes, etc etc etc.....
i don't advertise to sell any of what i build, and i
WILL NOT build parts for others... i WILL give them away when i build a revised version, but sell: NO..... so far i've given away 3 sets of Floor Boards, 2 sets of Foot Pegs, and numerous MOD Mufflers.... it's all about having fun, and helping others....
yes, this website is filled with great info from great people, but you need to remember that this website has sponsors, and if us regular guys are allowed to sell things; other than onesees and twosees, this website folds and we won't be able to share ideas with each other...
so keep on keeping on, have fun building things, and when you get really successful, pay for a spot to advertise your goods....
good luck K... and we all wish you well.....
