• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

LOST PART bad first ride

well

i just got a call from gerry from vertika trikes, he said i am the first one that has lost the left side vent, he said 3 others lost the right side because the never cut out the plastic under the panel and the air forced it off. he also said that the grommets holding the side panels in should be dry and not lubricated. i think that is what might of happened because i do remember after my last service that the dealer had put some grease on them for easy on and off. he also said he has to make another one for me and will work with me for the price.

If your tech greased the gromits. You need to be having a serious conversation with his boss, and his boss, if he does not accept some responsiblity. By now they should know the consequences of greasing gromits.

+1. :agree:
You can lube grommets with anything that will evaporate...a little soapy water for instance.
But never with oil, grease, WD40 or Vaseline. I believe that a small amount of baby powder (french chalk)
is also acceptable.

we live and learn, so from now on i know to ask and check. but with the idea i have about screwing the panels on i hope to never have to worry about this problem again. i am leery to ride the bike with the new vents on the bottom panels now so i need to make sure they won't come off with the screws, if i don't like the look of the stainless screws i will paint them yellow to match the bike. i will do the right side tomorrow and post pictures on a separate tread to show how it looks

John,
I'm REAL glad to hear that you'll get some help, with the cost of all of this...
Whether you need the help or not, is immaterial; others have contributed to this episode, and it looks as if they're stepping up to the plate... :2thumbs:
