I lost one of my keys. What process do you have to take to get a new one? I know you can't just go to the store and copy my spare key..2012 RT Limited :dontknow:

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I bought a key from http://keys4urride.com/canam-motorcycle-spyder-trike-transponder-key-p-146.html and took it to my local True Value store. They cut it and cloned the code from my original key and programmed my spare. Cost me $20 for the cut and clone. A lot easier and cheaper than getting the dealer to do it, $60 for key...$25 cut from locksmith....$100 to program to Spyder.

If the object is to save a few bucks, call around to locksmiths and ask specifically if they can handle your year of Spyder.
Their charges usually are about half what a dealer charges........but not all lock shops are equipped to do that.

I can tell you around me there were no "proper" stores and no locksmith knew anything about Spyders. So after searching around most people buy the key online and then find someone that can cut and clone. Finless Bob did a good video on what types of keys can be used.
