• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Loss of Power while driving 2009 Spyder GS SE5

I just had something odd happen to me on my way home I was on the down side of a hill and had a loss of power, I could crank on the throttle and nothing would happen. I pulled over and let it sit for a bit and then it started right up any Idea what it could be? I didn't see any warning lights or messages on the dash. any tips or ideas would be great.

The fact that you were going down hill (how steep?) and nothing flashed on the screen doesn't give folks much to work with. Was your fuel level low at the time? Were you on fairly flat ground when you stopped and restarted?

More imput - who said that....one of those little robot movies?

to be honest i'm not sure how steep the hill is maybe 30º +/- my tank is full and when i pulled over it was probably the same slope as the hill. sorry I know this isn't to much information, I will keep an eye on it more when i'm riding around.

p.s. I think that movie was short circuit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pj-qBUWOYfE

Nothing to be sorry about. Hope it never happens again.

Short Circuit  that's the one.......and that line stands among my all time favorites.

Have a great weekend :doorag:

You may have been riding the brake. It sounds like you went into limp home mode. If you press the brake long enough or enough times without pressing hard enough to build up pressure the computer thinks you don't have brakes and shuts you down.

Did you try to pull up any active codes? :dontknow:
I'm not sure about the GS/RS bikes; the RTs will flash a red indicator in the analog tachometer display to let you know that there's "trouble in Paradise..."

Just keep an eye on where your right foot is resting for a little while; that'll give Nanny a REAL case of indigestion!
Let us know if it happens again; Good Luck!

that happened to me once when i first got the spyder. i know that i was on the brake and assumed that is why it happened. never happened again, cause i don't ride the break anymore!!! just the throttle!:roflblack:
