• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Loose Corbin Backrest

:dontknow: Recently installed the Corbin saddle seat & back rest. Big improvement over the stock seat (in my opinion). But noticed very quickly that the back rest itself is loose, it woobles from side to side. Took the back plate off (mistake, was a pain getting screws lined up again because the screws go thru the foam in the back rest) and didn't see any adjustments to eliminate said play in the backrest.

E-mailed Corbin to ask if this was normal, never got a response. The square post is tight and secure to the front saddle, the back rest is also attached securely to the square post except for the side to side play.

Any suggestions or info on this issue would be helpful.

Thanks

Mine is similar, except it is loose in the socket of the front seat. The back seat is fine. The top is fine...go figure, it has fallen out on me twice on the road and I was able to reach back and grab it before it hit the road.

I have both the front and rear backrests on my Corbin saddles. I've had the same problem with the backrest on the passenger's saddle. :dontknow:

I have had the same issues.

Solved most by really tightening the socket screw that holds the post to the seat and putting Loktite on the screw before inserting.

I suggest that you check the location tube inside the seat to make sure this has been cast into place correctly and tight. If so, go with above fix.

My passenger backrest is not at right angles to the seat and Corbin are replacing the backseat as the tube inside fro the backrest attachment had not been installed at the correct angle

Needless to say, read this post to late... as Saturday on my way to the Leesburg Rally, on I4, running 70+ my backrest fell out of the hole... Lucky I caught it before it fell off the spyder..

For what is worth, I installed a second set screw in my back rest and it does not wabbly or fall out. Rest sits in square tubing, drilled access hole, tapped a new set screw hole in backrest. Hope this helps.;)

I switch mine back and forth depending on if I am wearing my backpack, sometimes I have too much junk in the trunk. So for now I use a bungie cord to hold it in. I need a quick release so I don't have to screw in set screws...
