There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Looking for Tail Bag (passenger seat) for the Spyder.

Sounds crazy, but even with the frunk, side V35 Givis, and V46 top case, I'm thinking about a tail bag for the Spyder. Just something that will hold stuff readily available but also allow me to pack a little bit more, but also allow for more organization in my other bags by freeing up some room.

My main wants are....

- Water proof is a plus, though if I have to deal with a rain cover that is ok too.
- Secure... Something where the main compartment can be locked or something. I realize that anyone can cut into a bag or cut the straps holding the D rings, but it is mainly about keeping people honest... Nothing of real value will be in it anyway.
- Doesn't need to be large... maybe 30 liters of capacity or something larger that conforms to what is packed in it.
- Maybe something large enough to double as a back rest?

I found some candidates (Still have to consider the BRP bag though)

Weather proof - http://www.happy-trail.com/Wolfman/Rolie-Bag-Large.aspx

I kinda dig this one - http://www.tbags.com/detail.aspx?ID=111&SelectedCat=2

Anyone have experience with these? I like the weatherproof and the ability to use it as a backrest though they are $$$$ http://www.bikersfriend.com/pages/bagsize.htm

This one looks kinda nice - http://www.nelsonrigg.com/store/product.aspx?pid=1646

And this - http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/4/71/37566/ITEM/Givi-Weatherproof-TW02.aspx

I found a lot of options at the motorcycle-superstore.

Sadly, not a lot of local place to look at and touch these bags. So what are you using and how do you like it? What do you typically pack in it? I plan on maybe having some fluids, snacks, spare batteries, some clothes... that's about it.

I have a Kuryakyn Ultra Tour Bag which sits on the passenger seat behind me and gives me a wonderful backrest. Zippers are water resistant and it comes with a rain cover. Bungees in place with 2 short bungees just to secure it to the passenger handles; downside is that you have to take it off to gas up ... unless you have upgraded the seat.

I'd love to post a picture but don't know how to drag stuff in from iPhoto. (If anyone can enlighten me, I'd be obliged.)

This is the Nelson Rigg bag you mentioned. I love it. You need to get the flat mounting straps to mount to the seat. Holds quite a bit.

I used to have a Biker Friend... hmmm.. wonder what ever happened to that??? Oh yeah.... now I remember...... DOH!

Anyhow......

I like the looks of the tbags......

I used the BRP rear seat bag-- worked okay-- kept tools, etc. in it.. but was NOT waterproof.

Currently looking for a rear seat bag for my RT. Strange as it sounds... I don't feel I have as much storage as I did on my GS with the R35 bags, larger front trunk and topcase... I think some of it's just the different shape of the compartments.....

Thanks!! Sometimes you just need someone to point you in the right direction. Just another one of those things I love about SPYDERLOVERS!!!!

Here are some pictures of the bag:

I have a biker's friend. Works ok for an RS. Not as stable as I'd like it to be but never had a problem (I strap it to the seat only, not the grab bars so I can refuel easier.)

Makes a great cooler for some reason. And it is nice to have it there as a backrest.

My wife has 2 or 3 Helen 2 Wheels bags. The're roll top waterproof the long way, which is real nice for taking clothes out of. And they have tons of strap down points so you can strap several of them down without a lot of bulk. Again we only go around the seat and these sit perfectly solid. Very very nice bags.

I'm waiting impatiently for the Arachnid pods that are being developed.
